New Warlock Advice?

Hi all, few questions for the more experienced warlocks out there. Coming from a 26 hunter and falling in love with the warlock, I'm learning to love the pulse rifle / shotgun combo after primarily being a scout user. Love me some precision kills. Focusing on the sunsligner (mis-spelling intentional) to be a guns-blazing tanky Trogdor the Burninator type, though I'll be launching full-force into the storm-caller when Taken King drops. What stats do you guys recommend? Trying to determine if I should stick with vanguard/crucible at least for awhile, or once I hit 20 if I should just drop everything and go full bore into a faction. If so, thoughts? My playstyle is probably gonna primarily be focused on radiant skin with my super, with flame shield/melee as an "oh crap!" tool, so that I can be a grenade happy fireball as often as possible while speeding up my teammates cooldowns as often as possible. So, bottom line... should I plan on saving up bounties (currently lvl 14) to turn in once I hit 20, and go straight into Future War Cult? Or is there a different faction you'd recommend? Or just plan on sticking with Vanguard and Crucible? Or lastly, is there a benefit to starting out leveling Vanguard/Crucible up to rank 2, and waiting to join a faction at that point? On legendaries... is there an generally advised order on which items to purchase first? Guns vs armor? Order for armor? Max defense first? I figure the higher the light level you can get as fast as you can, the better, but don't have all that much endgame experience. I enjoy PvP, particularly Control, but once I finished the story on my hunter, that was really all I did PvE-wise -- and never really got into too many strikes, and definitely didn't get into any raids -- tried a couple random strikes, but they usually ended in failure. As far as leveling after 20, what's the recommended way to somewhat reliably get legendary armor pieces? Playing crucible over and over seems to be just bashing a piñata and hoping something good drops...

If your planning on becoming a voidwalker try to get the obsidian mind high and intelligence armor. Then u can use nova bomb frequently.

  • Fusion grenade with gift of the sun perk which gives you 2 grenades. Also self rez with the voidfang vestments so after every time you die u get your grenades back.

Dead Orbit fits all needs for the greatest class My experience has shown that it's faster to combine both in the same week. Start with PVE and finish with crucible for rep and gear. Also revive is the most useful in any situation.

    • Try and get ram I really need it. Also do bounties to level up. For armor try and get any with fast melee cause warlocks melee is amazing.

    • You can't run radiant skin with song of flame. So you're either going to be tough to kill or a support role. The claws of ahamkara are a severely underrated sun singer exotic. Having two melee charges in radiance in addition to radiant skin, you can spec for intelligence and discipline and not have to worry about suffering through horrible melee charge time. Also use Firebolt grenades with all grenades cause DoT and then have your ignite DoT do more damage. Because frak precision.
