Bungie has won me back, and I'm glad - My first year of Destiny

Yes I've felt like this too.

I'm still salty as hell.

I'm a passionate lover of Destiny from the start.

My first fps experience besides timesplitters on gamecube was Halo 2 when I was five years old, only half an hour on my uncles gameplay. That moment has stayed with me ever since! I have always loved Bungie as a developer, they inspired me to get into game design and film studies. I loved every single halo game from getting the 360 in 2009 thinking graphics would never get better than this to my favourite of the series Halo Reach. I even decided to play through the third Marathon game, had no -blam!-ing idea how to get through it but I tried my best! However I -blam!-ed up honestly. I was a big supporter of Destiny from the start, but that was a problem because frankly no one knew what the hell it would be fully till release. I let expectations get the better of me and the game was not what I expected. The amazing story I expected from Bungie wasn't there and I wasn't fulfilled and I saw the way things such as PR and DLC were being handled as very anti-consumer and with the talk at the time about the cut story and content I felt utterly betrayed and I'm definitely not the only one that had that experience and I'm definitely guilty of slander as if Bungie was that 5 year lover that did something really shitty all of a sudden but I've come to realise over the past months that I like many others have been way too reactionary and take Bungie for granted. Destiny as a game is exactly as it should be minus overpowered power weapons. It's an investment over 10 years that will likely incorporate every bit of leaked story and much much more be it
Evil Traveler
and so on. After buying the DLC house of wolves the game felt like it was substantial and that was a feeling that was absent till a few weeks ago when I caved into the urge and I'm so -blam!-ing glad I did. Furthermore the recent IGN and Game Informer content such as this http://uk.ign.com/videos/2015/08/07/fireteam-chat-ep-30-the-gamescom-special-igns-destiny-show has completely made me want to love and make up with bungie. I wish we could have had that podcast one month in because it's made me aware of how important Bungie is to the game industry, they never outsource their jobs and they keep people in jobs and I hope they have this model in 20 and 50 years and it would be a honour to work for them. The Taken King is giving me everything I wanted from the start and I just want to thank Bungie with all of my heart for winning cynical then soured me over and I hope everyone at Bungie keeps doing an amazing job. <3 Poll question, have you had the same experience as me?

 • I'm a bit of a salty fanboy when it comes to Destiny, the good thing about Bungie is that they realise they still need to keep improving the game to keep us interested, on the contrary they release not enough info to convince us "This is Destiny's year". I love the game, but I'm on the back foot as I am now only a sole PvP player due to the lack of true "friends" I can play with. I can't really compete in PoE or ToO due to this, though I'm salty about certain aspects in both of these game modes, like the lack of spawn points available in ToOand the waves of bullet sponges in PoE with the same old capture/destroy mines etc etc. All of that said I will still play TTK and give it a chance, this is the final straw which will determine my existence in the destiny universe.

 • I've seen each DLC as a way to address issues and build op on this Shared World Shooter. A game type never made before for around 20 million registers users. That's more than WoW. So it's understandable that's it's taken them time and substantial work to make the changes they're about to. It's gonna be like a whole new game. I'm excited.
