Crucible reward for a race that I am not playing as.
I was playing in the Crucible today on the XBOX 360 and finished a match, after which I received two rewards. I received leg armor, and a legendary helmet engram. I am only a level 24 hunter and have never received legendary armor from the crucible before. I decrypted the engram and tried to equip the helmet; however, the helmet is meant only for the Titan race, so it is useless for me as I am a hunter. I was wondering if this is normal in the game or just a glitch/problem with Destiny right now. I would love to be able to replace it with a legendary hunter helmet if this is possible.

When decrypting any engram of this sort you have a random chance of it being for any class. For example, I decrypt a legendary chest engram while on my Warlock and it turns into the Extoic chest piece The Armamentarium for a Titan. This is all RNG based.

Normal. Happens a lot. Kind of motivation to make more characters I guess.
