Hasn't happened in awhile...

Today I got banned from a zombies server because I killed the admin. Cool story. Yes it's going to be one of those threads. It happened on one of the Alpha Team Gamers zombies servers. Those guys are awesome sauce. Sigh. So in the first game, I was a zombie on Death Island. Humans in the water, and I was croutching towards some humans in the water, slowly bit by bit. Just as I've gotten very close, about to stand up and pounce, I get kicked. OK. BTW, this admin had been doing a lot of stuff like giving out invisibility to people, overshields, and he reset the game a few times, which was annoying. So after getting kicked, I come back into the server and ask why I was kicked. "lol, y was i kicked?" He said I was afk. I ask him, are you sure. He says, no that's what the server said. Long story short: I kinda berated him. I didn't swear, but just sort of drove the point home that he kicked me without cause. He didn't say a word. We enter the next game, and we are both human. I ran by him and meleed him on the head, whatever. He doesn't say anything, I don't say anything, and time goes by. Later he is infected. We have a close encounter, I have a shotgun, he dies, and INSTABAN! So, yeah, I take responsibility for agitating him a bit, but all's I'm sayin' is that banning someone from a server because you got pwnd in a frustrating manner is about as low as it gets. It's like taking your ball and going home because you got beat. And if anyone from Alpha Team Gamers reads this forum, this guy was playing as "Hercules." [Edited on 06.26.2012 3:50 PM PDT]

 •
Posted by: Dr Syx
Posted by: Barnacle_Blast I think the amount of people playing does have some effect on the issue. See many of the people that used to play who became skilled players and skilled admins are gone now most of the time and don't play as much any more. Thus the imbeciles and noobs with "bad taste" who can't handle the lead are left to take over and make bad servers with bad gametypes.
How does that say the amount of people has anything to do with it? I'm saying that even if Halo PC had twice as many people playing as it already does right now it would still be filled with morons like it is right now. The problem isn't quantity, it's quality. There are already enough people for diversity across the servers but all Halo players ever want to do seemingly is play absolutely terrible gametypes. Most people with any sense left long ago because Halo PC wasn't good enough (The game itself, not the people) for them to continue to be interested in it. So now you have well over a thousand players who have absolutely horrid taste.
Okay okay. What I was trying to say is that the decline in population contributed to the emergence of the tasteless servers. I believe the population decline included skilled players and respectful admins. Many of the goodmins (lol) departed which left only the badmins and noobs. Essentially the admins with poor taste became the majority. Essentially because the population decline included skilled players and dedicated admins the badmins and less skilled players were left to run amuck and create servers with bad gametypes. And also what Btcc22 stated above is probably another contributing factor in the emergence of tasteless servers. It seems that most people just don't care enough about Halo 1 PC anymore to play hard core gametypes. The people that did are gone. The people that have remained just want to blow things up and mess around until Halo 1 PC dies. [Edited on 06.28.2012 4:16 PM PDT]
