I use glimmer to make the eqautions simpler and not into decimals...
I'm not going to complain about how Xür "never sells something that Elite Players need"
I'm here to tell you the facts...
From the gunsmith you can buy 1 heavy synth for 950...
And from Xür you can buy 5 Heavy synth for 1 strange coin...
950 x 5 = 1 strange coin...
1 strange coin = 4,750 glimmer
A exotic armor piece cost 13 strange coin...
13 strange coins = 61,750
Exotic armour piece = 61,750
(4,750 x 13 = 61,750)
To upgrade and armor piece (for example VoidFang Vestments) you need:
VoidFang Vestments
A exotic shard
And 7,457 Glimmer
For 1 exotic shard that is glimmer ...
(4,750 x 7 = 33,250)
So that means that you need 40707
(Not including the fact that it could cost you another 61,750 Glimmer for the actual armor piece)
This means you "saved" 21043 glimmer
But if you were to just buy a new Vestment
And dismantle that old one for a exotic shard that would cost you 33,250 Glimmer
So in comparison of cost
Upgrade: 40,707
Buy new: 28,500
So that means that you are saving 12,207 Glimmer by purchasing a new one...
So why would anyone want to upgrade?
Why did bungie do this?
Did bungie think all of there players are dum?
Did I notice this because I'm a genius in math?
P.S. Yes to the last one
Edit 1: thx to the people who pointed out that strange coins are 7 not 9 never noticed that...so thanks
