This technique has been used in "Gargoyle"
This is a tutorial on how to make weapons float in the air for screenshot purposes. Floating weapons for screenshots is one of the best techniques and brings many new possibilities to forge art. Until today I have kept this a secret but I will happily reveal it to you here and now.
Step 1: Make a platform for the weapons to be placed on, bridges work best. Make sure the bridges themselves are floating in the air. To do so hold the object in the air in the position you wish it to be then press start, save game then end game. Once you start up the game the object should be floating. NOTE that this does not work with weapons as they will fall once the game starts.
Step 2: Once you are done setting the platform in which you plan to place weapons on, place any weapons you wish in any form or design.
Step 3: Once you are done drawing your design on the floating bridge/s save the game. DO NOT delete the base yet. Save the game first. Once the game is saved you can go back and delete the bridges and the weapons are floating! If you start new round or touch/shoot the weapons they will fall. Stay away from the weapons. Even after you delete the platform do not save game. You may go back and take as many screenshots as you wish, but each time you will have to delete the bridges in the beginning of the game. That is how it works. Meaning this technique can only be done in Forge.
If you wish to make the weapons appear to be floating vertical follow these steps.
Step 1: Place the object in which you wish to use as the platform at a 45° angle. Make sure it is no more than that or the weapons will slide.
Step 2: Place the weapons on the platform in any design you feel like.
Step 3: Save the game, then delete the platform and your weapons are floating at a slight angle. To make the illusion that the weapons are vertical take the screenshot from a 50-60° angle. Make the spartan or elite stand close to the camera. This gives the illusion that the spartan/elite is in correct proportion to your weapon drawing.

Take these steps and you will end up with a screenshot that is unbelievable. Hope this tutorial helps you guys out. Be creative have fun.
Posted by: thepounder42 ^ you are a dick.
He's just saying he already knew. Which so did I, but still this is a good tutorial. Except you don't need to do your method to maked objects like bridges float.

Cmon Bungie! Pin the Topic!!!

Keep this thread alive! It is very helpful.

I am in the process of making a screenshot using that technique, but i am having some issues. I will post it whenever i finish it. Thanks again Predator. :-)

I love the fact that you guys are using my technique and that you are very enthusiastic about showing other people your work but please post your screenshots in the File Forums. This is the Halo 3 Forum and this is a tutorial thread only. Showing your screenshots here could end up in a blacklist for you or a lock for this thread.
Posted by: Predator5791
Posted by: RadibH1tman Thanks for this, although I was wondering, how did you do the warthog one (silhouette)
I did not make that screenshot, I made gargoyle, jaws, I died for reconz and Aliens..but not silhouette. That is a completely diffrent technique that I have no control over weather or not I should leak it. I did not invent that technique.
You diddnt "invent" it. Ive done this since halo 3's Release.

Thank you very much

Nice job predator. Its good to see a thread within the Halo 3 Forums that is something other than complaining. Shame you're no longer creating though, always thought your screenshots were pretty good.
Posted by: stacked72 hey does anyone think they can help me make these screenshots look cool because i don't know how to take effects screenshots and i just tried predator's way to make weapons float and whenever i end the game my weapon falls so can someone help me or just tell me my gamertag is stacked72 if you want to add me.
I explained in the tutorial to not save the game once you have deleted the bridges. That is why your weapons keep falling. Only delete the bridges when you are ready to take the screenshot. If you want to go back to the map and take another screenshot just delete the bridges all over again.
