Since you have obviously taken your xbox apart, and the warranty has expired, I think getting someone else to repair it cheap is out of the question. I'm no expert on the lasers in the Xbox, but did anything happen to it between the time it worked, and didn't work? Was the laser you bought made for replacing the xbox laser, or is it a standalone diode? [Edited on 04.15.2012 1:33 PM PDT]
