New Legendary Weapons Reviews

I am sure that many of us dads are grinding marks with plans to buy some of the new 331 attack legendary weapons. It is very easy to find reviews for exotics but not legendaries even though it takes quite some time to earn the 150 marks needed to buy Vanguard or Crucible gear (longer if you need to rank up a faction). We all have limited time to put into the game and the last thing we want to do is spend 150 marks on a gun we end up not liking. I am sharing my reviews of weapons I have purchased or earned via drops (or gifted from Bungie) and hope others will share their thoughts on their weapons as well. The base weapons are the ones you can get from the Vault of Glass since many of us are wondering if it still makes sense to play that for weapons. Weapon: Badger CCL Type: Scout Rifle Vendor: Vanguard Link: http://db.planetdestiny.com/items/view/3555771261 I use my Vision of Confluence as the standard against which I measure scout rifles. Badger has a slightly lower rate of fire, stability and reload speed. It also holds 14 rounds instead of 27. However, the stability is still very good and it has slightly more impact and range than a VoC. Mine has Kills with this weapon reduce the cooldown of your grenade is useful in both PvE and PvP. Weapon: Another NITC Type: Scout Rifle Vendor: Vanguard Link: http://db.planetdestiny.com/items/view/3555771260 Same rate of fire and impact as Vision of Confluence. Slightly higher range and slight less stability and reload. Magazine of 20 rounds. I prefer this to Badger CCL because of the larger clip since I tend to always have grenades ready when I want in PvE and I use a different primary in PvP (Vex Mythoclast, Thorn or Gheleon's Demise most times). Weapon: The Devil You Don't Type: Hand Cannon Vendor: Vanguard Link: http://db.planetdestiny.com/items/view/4040430040 I compare hand cannons to my Fatebringer. This one has a slightly higher rate of fire, slightly lower impact and less than half the range. It does have a bit more stability and faster reload speed. Holds 5 rounds compared to Fatebringer's 12. Mine also has a prefect balance perk that will be even nicer when maxed. Weapon: MG18A Harm's Way Type: Machine Gun Vendor: Vanguard Link: http://db.planetdestiny.com/items/view/1903292368 Same, very high, rate of fire as Corrective Measure. Slightly more impact and range. Almost half the stability and slightly lower reload speed. It holds 100 rounds per clip 58 in the Corrective Measure. I use this machine gun a whole lot in PvP because one heavy ammo lasts much longer than with my other machine guns. The stability is not an issue once you get used to the recoil. In PvE I equip it for Fallen enemies with arc shields. Hive Knights are best killed with Song of Ir Yut since you can penetrate the shield but if you don't have one from Crota's End then this is a good weapon to use against them. Weapon: Y-09 Longbow Synthesis Type: Sniper Rifle Vendor: Crucible Link: http://db.planetdestiny.com/items/view/935317314 Rate of fire is half that of Praedyth's Revenge. Stability is 1/3 lower and reload speed is about the same. Impact is double and range is slightly better. Magazine is 5 rounds instead of 4. The stability turns out to be not much of a issue (I normally use an Icebreak so I may be biased about dealing with recoil) and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I got off shots. Mine does solar damage so it is a good replacement for my Icebreaker when I want carry a primary or heavy exotic instead but keep solar long range in play. I did not like it in PvP compared to Praedyth's Revenge because perfect balance is so important to me there. Those are all the ones I have so far. I'm planning to purchase The Chance hand cannon from Future War Cult next week and will update this with my review of that and any other weapons I get down the line. Looking forward to others posting their thoughts on their new legendary weapons.

 • I bought The Calling from future war cult and it's my new favorite primary. It's got rodeo (stability) and mulligan perks with options for range/accuracy and reload. All the base stats are pretty good. So, the perks don't make the gun passable they make it great. My only gripe is the rate of fire could be faster. It's not slow like the saterinne rapier but it's also not a true semi auto (spitting out lead as fast as I mash the trigger). If you like longer range engagements this is a great choice. I've spent some time trolling lower levels and dudes questing the hive. From a good perch you can decimate everything just before they engage. It's fun as long as you knock it off when they politely shoot or knife your face.
