Ps. The second poll should say
"Yes make Faction shaders Purchasable but they require a certain rank to be purchased"
So everybody supports a faction right? but how DO they support it?, with just a Class item XD, that's it?
We should be aloud to buy the Faction shaders at like rank 5, rank 10, and rank 15 (I think there's 3 shaders per faction???). Many people have gotten their Faction rank to above Rank 30 and still have yet to receive the shader from the package.
So how about make them a level based thing. Then when someone looks at you they'll be like "Wohhhh you got the rank 15 dead orbit shader!!!! That's so cool!!!" Now they know what you had to go though to get it and if they wanna support dead orbit they could get the shader (or NM/FWC)
I was thinking about the rank requirement for the shaders and I thought
Rank 5
Rank 10
And then like rank 20 so people know you support that faction if you have the rank 20 shader!!!
And the people saying "keep as is" probably have a faction shader and don't want anyone else to have it XD
Also people have said (might not be true though I'm not sure) the Faction shaders were able to be purchased in the Beta at rank 20. Bring it back Bungie!!!!
My suggestion was to have them unlock at 10,15 and 20th level. This would keep them hard to obtain while at the same time displaying a players individuality.
You see a guy with a Revanant, you know he has 20 levels of hard earned rep. Not just some lucky guy who got it at level 4.
Using a commendation in order to purchase them would also provide something else to spend them.
Which makes alot of sense
AlTrio also said something interesting
For something as cosmetic and unhelpful as a shader, they are annoyingly hard to get. Games should encourage customization, not limit it so drastically. Even if it took a ton of effort it'd be great to have a way of working towards shaders something other then praying would be fantastic.
Stupid exotics forcing me to get matching shaders.
Also Bungieeee (or Deejjjjjjj)
What if 2 of the 3 Faction shaders were able to be purchased from the NPC of the respected Faction around rank 10 and rank 20
But the last shader would still only be available from the level up package???
Edit: Theres actually 4 Faction shaders per faction apparentlyyyy

Update: I just opened another five packages for Dead Orbit and STILL NO -blam!-ING SHADER. That is complete bullshit.

Edited by chromeplatedbagel: 5/18/2015 2:42:42 PMThey shouldn't just give you the shader because that would take away from the charm of it. Maybe be able to purchase one of the emblems at rank 10.
BTW, I don't have any faction shaders :'(
Edited by str8_kilinf00ls: 5/18/2015 2:40:16 PMI understand people are wanting these shaders, But if you could just buy everything in the game there would be no point for RNG. It took me to level 50 before I got revenant. It was a awesome feeling to finally get it. If they make it to where you can buy everything then it would take that experience away from the player.
-
No that would be stupid cuz then everyone would have the shaders and they wouldn't look as cool
-
This poll looks like the start of a Snowflake Genocide.
-
Just takes time.. people only wear the faction shaders because they are rare. For example Glowhoo, everyone wanted that shader very few had it at first then everyone and their brother got it so it became lame.. I got all 4 D.O shaders and it took a very very long time combined ranking of 77+ in D.O between 3 characters

I say no because then the faction packages would have literally 0 purpose.

I agree with this. I love having a RNG system for some things but it is just a little overdone in destiny. I mean I absolutely love this game and hate to see some people dissing it so much. But I believe a lot of their issues can be centered around the fact that there just isn't any earning in the game. Almost everything is achieved via a completely random generated drop. I just feel that if they altered the game a bit in ways like the OP describes, people would enjoy the game a lot more knowing that there are things they can actually build up to.

Edited by CJK2244: 5/17/2015 5:09:28 PMMake purchasable after a mission or challenge to prove your loyalty. This means that if someone is wearing a certain shader they know they have been dedicated for a long time!

Edited by Namxi: 5/15/2015 2:59:51 PMYou were able to buy faction shaders in the alpha
-
Agreed. After 30 packages with Dead Orbit, I should have at least one shader. Well, I don't.
-
I would love to be able to purchase faction shaders. Also faction ghost skins.
-
Check this out

Edited by VirginStomper: 5/17/2015 1:21:04 AMI don't have a faction shader and I think it should stay the way it is. Some things should only come from drops. I wouldn't mind if the drop rate were to increase a few percent every 5-10 levels.

Rank 28 Dead Orbit.Still no shader :(

Bump for crump

You would think the leaders of your faction would want you to look like your an actual member of that faction. If I was the leader of new monarchy I would want you sporting red and white for sure. Not running around in some silly blue and orange shader you got from a crucible match. And as far as "earning" it goes, give me a break. If your faction level is up above 20 then you've earned the damn thing. You can make it expensive. 10000 glimmer, 2 or 3 crucible commendations and 100 points. That way people will know you "earned" that bad buy.
-
Lvl. 26 dead orbit- no shader. Stop giving me energy!!
-
Dead Orbit rank 30+ (don't remember the exact number), 2 bittersteel shaders which is the ugliest 1 in my opinion.
-
Everybody wants a hand out.
-
You just want them to be purchasable because you don't have one. Same thing with everyone wanting a G-horn. Leave it alone and let it happen. I still don't have a G-horn or the Vex. I have Revenant though and it was so awesome to see it pop up. When it happens, you get pretty excited, and that wouldn't be the case if you could just buy it.
-
If you could buy them everyone would have them and they wouldn't be special at all.
