Short & simple. I'll let you guys decide. Personally, I'd say, "demonstrate your ability by besting individuals who could attain your level of intellect, comprehension, and tactic." This would indicate that the opponent is clearly human - an adversary only PvP lies, but I've heard the contrary. People claim true skill comes from Raid, Strikes, & RNG. Enlighten me with opinions.

Edit: Glad to see community participation. Good job, team.
Edit 2: Soooo, PvE is winning? Casuals.

I don't know how you can be good at PvP and not be good at PvE. However, I can definitely see someone who is good at PvE suck at PvP.
-
I demonstrate my skills on a daily basis, while I am at work.
-
By not being a lil bitch
-
Go rub one out. You'll feel better and whether or not you are more "skilled" than the dude on the other end of the interwebs won't be as important.
-
Its a game... really. Just play for fun and save "skills" for real world use..
-
Haha not casual just don't play pvp anymore due to the fact there is no skill involved in it anymore.
-
The flaw with the PvP argument is that at harder levels of PvE, you tend to deal with blatantly unfair AI opponents who do not have to follow the same rules as you. Not necessarily this game specifically, but it's amazing how people always conveniently overlook that aspect of PvE in their insecure attempt to prove how much "better" they are because they focus on fighting squishy humans. In short, it depends on the game and the mechanics.
-
I guess I am more consistent at pve. Pvp I can range from rubbish to ok. I enjoy the different aspects of both.
-
Can't answer this question. I would say pvp, but it really depends on how you tackle difficult pve content. I think when my level 26 friends and I completed the level 28 nightfall for the 1st time back in September without hiding in any "safe spots" and without wiping, that was a pretty decent display of skill

Bumpity bump.

By letting my 4 year watch me play. She thinks I'm a god.

I would have went with PvP, but a couple things changed my mind. IB isn't always up, so things are too balanced with too many people crying nerf nerf nerf, so there's obviously no skill shown.
-
"Skill", in pretty much every video game, boils down to... Hand-eye coordination, twitch reflexes, map knowledge and communication. Nothing really big to brag about.
-
If you can't climb the tree in Tower and at least get on top of one the banners... No skill. Git gud at clymin.
-
Neither. The answer is both. He who is good at both is the best player.
-
I think that PvP requires a lot more skill because things like nightfalls and weeklys can be done easily by sitting in a particular spot and raids, you just need to follow instructions. PvP is never the same and if you mess up your shots then your dead.
-
High speed with the sparrow shows your skill in this game

True greatness in destiny should be measured in both. PvE K/D Ratio in Raids should be greater than 10 PvP K/D ratio should be 2+ I think if a player can achieve this anyone would agree they are a master

Edited by Swiftlock: 1/3/2015 11:27:53 PMSkill is subjective. For some people, it's performing well in the raid, for others, it's doing well in PvP. For many, it's both.
-
You can't.

Edited by Vic: 1/3/2015 10:32:01 PMRushing in every game of the crucible and pooping on people with a shotgun. Deal with it.

Using No Land Beyond in Crucible effectively.

Edited by oh ver driive: 1/3/2015 10:15:21 PMThe pve vote is hilarious. If you think the supplicants spawning in the exact same order around atheon and taking the same path to each sync plate takes skill to kill you are a fxck tarded fxck.
-
I say they both require skill. Some of the same skills, and some different. Anyone sitting here saying one or the other takes absolutely no skill is an idiot. Sorry not sorry :)

In PvP? If you use a primary for most of the game and can actually aim and go toe to toe (or do better) against me. In PvE? If you're cooperative and know your limits. I'm not asking you to solo the Nightfall, if you're on my fireteam I'd like you to work together. Though I'm not much of a good PvE player because I usually go off on my own.

Edited by almightysundaas: 1/3/2015 10:17:48 PMIf you can solo the gatekeeper side on Mars as a level 29 on VoG hard mode without gjallarhorn...you are skilled in the PvE portion.
