***Hawkmoon VS Thorn VS The Last Word*** (PVP)
Which one do you think is better ? It would be nice if you answer this question after trying them. Cheers
We take into account all the situations in which you might find yourself in Crucible. (Short range, Mid range, Long range,2 vs 1, and so on)
Edit : For the most part, it seems that the people that can get hawkmoon (PlayStation only) tend to like it more than the other two .
Edit : Yes, I know that the poll isn't entirely accurate because the Xbox users don't have access to hawkmoon.

7 RepliesI have two each hand cannon. I've done the thorn bounty multiple times just for the shard so my experience with each is even. All 3 are amazing weapons and I've had ridiculous scores with each. Thorn - ugliest of the 3 but most deadly because of its ability. Ammo and fire rate make it a solid gun but not the best. The Last Word - if you master firing from the hip and the best times to reload you'll be unstoppable. Not the best hand cannon but can be deadly in the right hands. Hawkmoon - my personal fav exotic and a overall the best hand cannon. Fire rate, most ammo, very high impact along with potential bullets doing more damage make it a beast. Hawkmoon > Thorn > The Last Word Just my opinion.

And Hawkmoon oh Hawkmoon since I'm an Xbox user I don't have much room to talk about it but 1 shot 1 shawt ermagerd, But my brother does have psn and he has all three exotic hcannons he says he likes thorn because of DoT and its range. He doesn't like TLW much at all mainly because of its lack of range and its upcoming nerf and he loves his Hawkmoon it's just, the Thorn dug its way into his heart

1 ReplyPeople hate thorn just for the fact, the bounty is hard to complete. Once you get thorn and get that DoT perk, it's all bliss.

Only scrubs die to thorn users. Edit: and from my observations hawkmoon is better than both but rng is unkind to me and I have yet to use one myself. Edit2: for clarity, I mean in a 1v1 gunfight. Pretty much every legendary that isn't an auto rifle can outgun thorn, you Just can't go running at them with it.

Hawkmoon is easily the best tlw second it's harder to use than thorn so people tend to hate it, and thorn.....thorn is the easiest to use but honestly anyone with skill can out gun it only thing that saves it is dot.

Situational for sure. Close quarters rumble is all TLW. But that's honestly the ONLY time I use it over the other two. Hawk moon is fantastic in all situations when you've got good aim. Thorn is beautiful for Trials of Osiris. To be able to have damage over time ticking over someone's head reveals their position and movement even if they aren't in your line of site.

I have all three. To be honest hawkmoon is the better of the 3 in most situations because of the mag size and 120 damage headshot capability in pvp. Its a right monster. Thorn in a 1v1 i think is better if you have the m.o.d perk

Hawkmoon is fun to use, and looks absolutely fabulous. But when the thorn can consistently 2shot with a faster fire rate and higher stability then hawkmoon, it's not that hard to see which is better. And when last word is in the same boat with frequent 2shot glitchs, fastest fire rate, good stability, it's quite easy to see why they are the best 2 guns in the game. Hawkmoon is very balanced as its exotic perk is that it has a small chance to 2shot and one in a blue moon one shot an opponent

1 ReplyI got all three and I invested a lot of time on all three. Based from my experience Hawkmoon gets the better of Thorn (around 60% of the time). TLW beats Hawkmoon and Thorn (around 70% of the time). I personally prefer Hawkmoon but I only have 1 so I use TLW often with all my three characters. I'm waiting for the RNGod or Xur to sell Hawkmoon so I can equip it to all my characters and never use TLW or Thorn again

The Thorn is the most user friendly and forgiving of all three. Like I've said before, some guns you carry, other guns carry you and the Thorn most def fits that category. Hawkmoon should stay as is, it requires a RNG to make it a fast kill. TLW just needs the proc from happening unless you are actually firing it from the hip. Thorn though, I'd hate to see it nerfed hard because it should still be a gun you can turn to in both PvE and PvP that functions at a high level. Maybe taking the Dot off of long range shots and only making it function from close to mid. It should not be out damaging scout rifles at those longer ranges.

I prefer and use Hawkmoon but Thorn is the best by a distance. People team snipe with the damn thing fgs.

Tlw for rumble, unless multiple Thorns are running around picking me off, then I switch to fight fire with fire. Hawkmoon for large maps mainly on control or clash. All great imo

Might be a bit late, but, the last word is [b]TERRIBLE[/b] until you get the exotic perk. Thorn is good, but becomes amazing once you get its exotic perk. I can't speak for hawkmoon, but some of my friends swear by it.

The best , hawkmoon.. Easiest to use Thorn.. TLW falls in between .. Preference is a different story though

TLW has piss poor range if you want it to be useable in PvP (you need to max stability). Thorn I like for PvE and PvP is ok. I use both depending on the size of the map. I've never tried Hawkmoon but my accuracy is just so variable (ie: either I'm MVP or I'm *cough* bottom *cough*) so it would really depend. All are fun to use I would think. HM demands a little more skill I would think. TLW is great when accompanied with a sniper to cover all ranges. Thorn works well with a fusion rifle.
