This is something that I noticed about a week ago and have yet to see anyone else mention it. If you read the title then you can guess what I'll be talking about, so, let's dive in.
--The Multiple Towers Theory--
It was about a week ago when I heard a few interesting words from the woman on the intercom in the Tower lobby.
"The Cryptarch in this tower is Master Rahool."
When I heard this I first questioned why the announcer even bothered to explain who our Cryptarch is. However, a few moments later I realized there was a keyword in that sentence that opened my eyes with wonder.
"This."
This. What did she mean by "this tower"? Then it hit me. The announcer is identifying this tower out of other towers. "This" is a signifier for a singular object taken out of a whole. She did not say "The Tower". If so, then she would be talking about only one tower. But clearly she said "this" and then named the Cryptarch for that tower to distinguish it from another one. After thinking about this discovery I realized that I had nothing to back up the information that I had come across. That was until I looked out toward the city. Gazing with my curiosity I saw it out there. A blinking beacon of light rising out on the horizon to the right of the Traveller. The light that shown was red and faint. I was shocked, looking back toward my own tower to notice a similar display. Red blinking lights lining the top of the tower. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Had I just noticed another portal to a haven of light infused warriors? I looked back to the city and glanced to the left of the Traveller to catch another red light. A third tower! This is fascinating information that is being revealed. I smiled for a moment and began to let my mind wander with ideas of other guardian types and factions. Perhaps there is even more than one Speaker? Who knows, but this could possibly open more doors to exciting theories and questions + a larger story at hand.
Okay, phew, that was a lot to type on a phone, but I hope I was able to convey my message in an understanding manner.
Now, onto the next part of the topic.
--Subclasses--
Weren't there supposed to be new subclasses available with the release of The Dark Below? Feel free to tell me otherwise because I'd love to know.
That's all I've got for now. See ya around Guardians!
[Edit]
I just realized that in conjunction with the other towers, the three towers form a triangle around the Traveller. This is more exciting news!

If you look all down the wall you can identify two additional towers just in this area of the city. I would imagine there are quite a few towers. It would have been cool if each fraction had their own tower....
-
I just heard the postmaster talking and she said some random name, then "that tower's empty, isn't it?"
-
I love these guides gems and the NPC's who give the little lines about various things that's going on. I really do hope that more comes from the future of the game. So much potential it would criminal not to pursue it.

The city towers and walls are built deffensively around the traveler. It makes sense there would be more then one tower along the walls to deffend the city, i also imagine there is a 4th on the opposite side of the traveler, one for each cardinal direction. As for them being empty according to the postmaster, this war has been going on for a long time and humanity is on a last leg. It could be that there just isnt the man power to properly staff all the towers. It could also be that the tower we know is the main deffensive tower, and the others are smaller and less equiped. There are still more questions then answer in the destiny story. This could be a corpse from the original plot and story line that bungie just hasnt decided what to do witg yet.
-
The one thing that has always made me wonder is the Postmaster will say, "But.. That Tower's empty, isn't it?"
-
Kadi 55-30 (Postmaster) also says "this tower is empty", and i'm assuming she's talking about another tower, as ours is definitely not empty.
-
This makes sense But given the recent events It's more likely that bungie wants you to feel like the are multiple towers because there are multiple guardians. So either youb are right or its just a part of the illusion.
-
Interesting multiple tower theory, I'll have to look for this and other details when I get home today!
-
The post master makes passing comments about a package to be delivered and says something to to tune of "but that tower is empty"

You can also see the "Twilight Gap" multiplayer map from the tower and vice versa. If you're looking from the tower it is off to the left of the traveler and if you're at the Twilight Gap you can see the tower off to the right of the traveler.
-
They also talk about "The Warlock Tower" Over the intercom.
-
Yeah, if you look around the city, there are 4 more towers that are visible. I believe ours is the central command, since we house the speaker, but that's just me.
-
On that last note, Illuminati confirmed.
-
I have noticed other towers identical to the tower we all visit but I've never heard the loud speaker thing
-
A third sub was never planned, the 3rd slot was intended to save a seconds setting of a Focus. For example one with high defens for Nightfall and one with high agility for the low things. In the Beta the Button was there but unusable. They thinking about puting in a third but nothing's on the table yet. Read that (surly not the exact words) somewhere round here as official statement.

Interesting Tower theory! I'm going to try and find this lady's voice in our tower. Where were you when you heard it?
-
Never thought of multiple towers. That's pretty interesting. As the subclasses go. No they were rumors that were put to rest a few weeks ago. There may be new subclasses, but not in the near future
