Nightfall Observation - Can Someone Explain this to Me?

I was hoping someone could explain this to me. The Epic modifier on the strike gives certain enemies damage specific shields. My question comes with the enemies chosen to get those shields. Fallen: Shanks Vex: Harpies Cabal: Psions Hive: Knights I want to know why the Hive Knights get the shields and not the Thralls or Acolytes. The other three species of enemy that get the shields all are arguably considered the worst or weakest amongst their species' infantry. I can see the thralls not getting the shields because technically they do not fire at you and it would make it tough if they had shields paired with lightswitch. Therefore, you would assume that the acolytes would get the shields. I would argue that they are the weakest Hive enemy anyway since the thralls are always in numbers. Instead, for some reason, the Knights get the shields. I am not complaining as it makes the Moon strike more challenging when it is in the Nightfall slot, but I am just baffled as to why the strongest Hive infantry who normally do not have shields, now get them with the Epic modifier.

  • Pretty sure with the knights we're actually getting a break. thralls with Shields would be...not fun. There's to many acolytes for them to have Shields, you'd get overrun immediately. And unless you want to give wizards MORE Shields, then knights is your only option.
