Gun Customization Missing?

So in the "Out here in the Wild" Vidoc, at 1:23 you can see an auto rifle that goes through a series of changes. Everything changes on this gun. The scope, optics, ammo counter, weapon color, and more. You see several variations of the same gun. Now this was meant to show one of two things: 1) That weapon customization was once much more broad and personal. or 2) These are merely just different guns shown one after an other to give the appearance of customization. But I clearly remember (I cannot cite the source) that Bungie said we will have control over what our gun looks like. They told us that we could change everything from the dot in the scope, to the color of our ammo counter. I remember them specifically referencing the Red Death when talking about these customizable options. So am I the only one who feel a bit let down? Am I the only one who thinks that our weapons are not at all personal? That maybe they cut out gun customization all together? With the number of exotic weapon clones out there, you would think we could at least customize those so that we aren't all walking around with the same thing. Meh.

  • Don't go back and watch those ViDocs. They will make you weep. They showed a LOT in them that isn't in the actual game. Including different upgrades, different chests, and different descriptions for weapons. They even showed fully working footage of The Reef, which obviously has content ready....just maybe for future DLC? See, the problem is. Destiny had huge changes quite a few months before the actual game released. Some people left, and design directions changed because of that, hence why so many things are different when you compare the ViDocs and the actual game.
