How to Fix the Story

This is what you do. I'm fine with the first bit, it was the most fun I have had in the entire game. Maybe if you fleshed it out a bit more, gave us a bit more cutscene, it would be better, but I like it the way it is. [b]Your first Tower visit[/b] Now were going to the tower, we learn all these cool things about these people and such. The first time you meet these people though, THEY WILL ACTUALLY TELL YOU WHAT AND WHO THEY ARE. THis is through the form of cutscenes. If your a warlock, when you meet ikora, there will be a little cutscene telling you who she is, what she does and about the warlock. Same goes for all the other classes. This time, the speaker tells you OF the great war, and why it scares the children. The gunsmith shows you his fine wares, and has a little firing range out back where you can test the guns before you choose them, he also asks you to take a helmet armor engram out to the cryptarch, because he doesn't know what it is. You meet the cryptarch and he tells you what he does (and how much of a massive douchebag he is) and then decryptes the engram, giving you a random green helmet for your class. This is where you learn of the rarity system. You now go and check out your ship, and the shipwright tells you it's all fixed up. Now you learn that you need a warp drive, and you od the mission to go get it. This mission doesn't need any changing either. [b]Missions[/b] All missions need more cutscenes and narrative. And make sure to tell us what stuff is, like what the Warmind is and all that jazz. Also, add a couple more missions, flesh out the earth a bit, give us a couple of hours more gameplay. But with the new missions, give us new things to do. Like retrieve and ancient artifact from the golden age, without any defending dinklebot. When you get the artifact, a cutscene ensues with you holding it and the ghost telling you of its importance, and then the mission ends. I have made a list of new mission types i would like to see. Stealth Missions: Dont be seen, take out enemies with brutal melee attacks and headshots with a sniper/sout/hand cannon. If you don't have one of these, your gunna wanna get one. Make the ghost give you a silencer or something for your guns. Assasination Missions: You have to kill a boss or multiple. Same as a stealth mission but with the boss at the end. Retrieval: FInd and artifact or an npc and get them out without losing it/getting the npc killed. Can also be classified as a rescue. Escape: Oh no, you have been captured for interrogation by the fallen during a stealth mission. This includes some puzzles and mostly stealth to retrieve your stuff. Then you blaze outta there, taking revenge on the boss that captured you at the end. [b]Factions:[/b] On your fifth mission (which will be new). You are introduced to the factions. There is a massive battle involving 4 ncps from each faction, all working seperately to beat back a fallen attack. 1 representative form each runs up to you and tells you whats going on, and then they ask for your help. All three have a seperate cutscene for you, and they tell you of their plan to win. FWC believes in going out with everyone and killing the majority of the army. They tell you they specialize in brute force and therefore they all are using auto rifles, rocket launchers and shotguns. Dead Orbit believes they should assasinate the fallen kell leading the attack, and they lead you through a couple of tunnels where some fallen leap out at you and there are many traps (try to make it a little bit scary) until you get to the leader. They tell you they specialize in stealth and secrecy and cunning, therefore they use scout rifles, sniper rifles and hand cannons. The New Monarchy then comes up to you and tells you they believe they should strategically set up a defense plan and let the Fallen attack, holding out at their strongest point. They tell you there main priority is defense and protection, and they specialize improving and defending what they got. They tell you they specialize in Pulse Rifles, Fusion Rifles and Machine Guns. When you choose which faction you want to join, you carry out their plan and the other factions choose to agree (but not happily) to go along with your plan. A couple of your group get taken out. FWC Mission: 3 DO die, 1 FWC die and 2 NM die. Dead Orbit Mission: 3 FWC die, 2 NM die and 1 DO die. New Monarchy Mission: 1 of each die. Each faction has 3 vendors. (Because your chosen faction always has 3 survive) One sells emblems and shaders. One sells armor and bonds/marks/cloaks and one sells weapons, ships and sparrows. http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/72178812/0/0 This link is a suggestion from another guardian that I believe would fit right in with what I'm trying to say. [b]Conclusion[/b] More story, give us characters we care about, give us actual factions, not just shitty excuses for gear. Give us better things to do than to defend dinklebot. Give us better rewards from doing and completing the story. Give us more cutscenes and narrative. [b]How does this intergrate into the current story[/b] after Adding/Changing missions and making the story 10x better, add a heroic story option. This means you complete the story again (but this time there is secret places, better loot and more rewards) and upon completion you get a random Exotic WEAPON Engram. You skip the faction mission. I realize that players have already finished the story, leveled up and finished all their faction reputation. Well, each of these players get a special reward from their faction, and a boost to any faction activites they do. But they will have to restart the reputation. You also make new players level up slower, because there is more story content. This doesnt mean there needs to be a soft level cap raise, just raise the amount of exp needed for each level.
