Ideas for Future Patches

So after a semi-successful topic regarding the prior patch and some rather unique ideas brought to my attention, I think we should instead be focusing our efforts on how we can help to improve the game in the future. Obviously Bungie does a lot of work to keep Destiny fun and fair for all players, but as of recently many of us have felt left out, or specifically targeted by the nerf bat to the point where we've started to question Bungie's views for the "direction" of the game. Now, I'll be the first to admit that my 1.0.2.2 topic did have it's flaws and may have come off as a directed hit towards specific people, and that was unintended and I have clarified that point in the topic. This topic here, will have no bashing to anyone or any groups of people, instead I'm going to focus my efforts on something I'm good at doing, presenting fair ideas that have the best interests in mind for everyone. And because PvP oriented folk felt left out last time, I'll prove that I'm certainly not single-sided minded here with some ideas as well for PvP improvements. Before we begin, I want to thank everyone who did participate in my old 1.0.2.2 topic and providing very insightful and useful comments and ideas for this thread. So without further ado, let's get to the content. Major Changes A "Major" change is something that changes the mass-functioning of the game, or adds something "big" as new content, this will mainly be used by DLC addons. * Add a PvP arena editor feature to the game (Like Forge) so Guardians can create brand new PvP arenas to fight in. * Add a Survival activity to all planets ** 6-10 Players, Matchmade ** Specified Level & Difficulty ** Unlimited Waves on Enemies, higher drop & reward rate on higher difficulties ** Spawn lots of baddies & bosses. After 10 waves, players get a shot at random loot (Raid style loot reward, but not Raid gear, obviously :p) Minor Changes Minor changes almost always require a patch as it adds new content to the game, but not necessarily a 'ground-breaking' level of new content * Add a Group-Finder NPC (Like the bounty bot) where you can post and view group requests for Raids, Nightfalls, Weekly. * Add a player customization vendor to allow us to change our player's visual features (I know lots of us want this ability) * Add "Raid Tokens" earned from the raid, Add a "Raid Vendor", thinking one of those "Nine" guys could be this, but at the tower all week (His stock could change once a week, or once a day), In order to be allowed to buy items from this vendor, the character must have completed the normal raid once. ** Sells Raid items for Raid Tokens. Could be 5 random Legendary Raid Items (Doesn't sell Exotics, IE: Mythoclast) or other related items. This should also help to curb the "I can't get 'x' raid idem after doing it 'y' weeks in a row" complaints. To help the PvP oriented players, add a material exchange to this vendor so they can convert 2 Crucible Marks to 1 Raid Token. * Add a "Library" to the tower, allowing us to view our collected Grimoire cards in game. * Add Holiday themed content to the tower to make it more interesting. This is a social game so we should also get some "festive" event content, thinking unique ghost shells, ships, shaders, etc. * Add mini-game events to the tower like Soccer / Sparrow Races that players can "wager" Glimmer / Marks on and then compete for. * Add a system to the game (if not already present) to split statistics of weapon and armor pieces between PvP & PvE. * Add a hotbind menu to allow players to bind different options to their D-Pad like "change to 'x'". * Fix the audio bugs in the Raid. * Add additional categories of weapons to the game: ** Primary: *** Pistols: Not as much damage as Hand Cannons, but can fire much faster, and have potential to be fully automatic. *** SMGs: Faster firing than Auto Rifles & More Ammo, but less damage and performance at longer ranges ** Special: *** Sniper Rifles: Add laser rifles to this category (Think Hobgoblin/Vandal weaponry) *** Directed Energy Weapons: Continual laser weaponry that doesn't use ammo, or functions differently with ammo. ** Heavy: *** Chainguns: Heavier than Machine Guns, has a very large clip but a much longer reload time. Great for large mobs of enemies (hive). *** Grenade Launchers: More ammo than rocket launchers, can have perks to fire class grenades. ** Exotics (Could be of any class): *** Elemental Swords: Come on Bungie, you know we want these, base it off of the Crota sword but obviously weaker, you could then go about making unique perks to add unique melee/super abilities to it. :) *** Darkness Weapons: We have the bounties to get these, let's expand on that by allowing us to get a very small chance of an exotic bounty starting notice by killing an enemy to convert their darkness infused weapon into a tool for the light, alternatively, allow us to gain a "Darkness" statistic through weapons or armor to increase overall damage at the cost of something else. * Add additional levels of Sparrow upgrades to grant our sparrows the ability to do unique abilities, here are some ideas: ** Stealth Module: The sparrow can turn invisible, allowing you to move undetected through enemy encampments ** Weapons Systems: These will be a wide variety of upgrades to grant us different styles of weapons, machine guns and rocket upgrades (Exotic level) would be nice. Revision Changes Revisions are used to manipulate existing game content that may require insertion of new code to change, usually required a downloaded patch or title update * Increase PvP Rewards for players who have higher scores in the game, reduce rates of drops for players with lower scores. Make drops per game-based instead of time-based. * Adjust all existing exotic bounties to have two possible tasks when dealing with PvP objectives. One for PvP and one for PvE. * Add an Advisors menu to the game to view reputation status with factions, and weekly progress on raids. This can also be used by the "Raid Completion" system mentioned below. * Add armor pieces with elemental resistance perks. * Add an Exotic item sold by Xur (8 Coins / 10 Motes) to change the element of a weapon that already has an elemental damage type. IE: ** Solar Infusor: Change the element of this weapon to Solar. ** Void Infusor: Change the element of this weapon to Void. ** Arc Infusor: Change the element of this weapon to Arc. * Allow us to material convert 2 Vanguard Marks to 1 Crucible Mark & Vice-Versa for Crucible -> Vanguard. * Re-allow players to use the platforms in the Templar fight, add Hobgoblin spawns if the "Kill-Volume" is exceeded to counter. * Add a teleport to the Templar if it is knocked off the edge, if the players block three teleports, the Templar is defeated. Spawn lots and lots of baddies if this teleporting system is initiated, and if the players succeed in doing this, count it as a non-teleport win, granting the legendary chest in the back-route. * Add a "Raid-Completion" system to the game. ** Each Raid item that is unlocked for a character is marked off the "list" and cannot be re-unlocked unless the item in question is destroyed, you could put this list somewhere. This will also reduce the number of complaints regarding how certain people get the same thing over and over again. * Add a CTF game mode to the Crucible * Add the ability to use an ammo synthesis during the game by holding the reload button while the weapon class of interest is equipped. Build Changes Builds are the smallest level of game-changes, and can be done by adjusting single numbers or values. Most new games can apply these patches while you're in-game without needing to do a large scale thing like a download or a title update. * World Changes: ** Fix the floating chests on Mars. ** Block the glitch at the VoG entrance related to positioning a sparrow along the door to phase through the wall. ** Fix the numerous "traps" in the world where players can fall into a position and cannot escape without needing to go to orbit. * Weapon & Class Balances: ** Both PvP & PvE: *** Bring back the Pocket Infinity's Enhanced Battery Perk, change clip sizes for this to: PvP: +2, PvE: +5. *** Add an Oracle Disruptor perk to the Vex Mythoclast. *** Buff the Thorn's Mark of the Devoured's Poison Damage ** PvE Only: *** Buff all shotguns to give them purpose again *** Slightly increase the Ice-Breaker's Replenishment time from 6 seconds to 5 seconds. *** Do the same for Invective. ** PvP Only: *** Slightly nerf the HP Regen properties of the SUROS Regime *** Apply a range damage reduction to Fusion Rifles to bring them in line with Shotguns. *** Nerf the Bladedancer super to bring it in line with other class supers. *** Decrease base damage with Scout Rifles, Increase Critical Hit Damage. *** Decrease base damage with Sniper Rifles, Increase Critical Hit Damage. *** Remove join-in-progress for matches beyond 75% complete. Edits *1: Adjusted numbers, removed first section due to text limit. *2: Removed mythoclast & atheon adjustments, these are being done in the 10/2X hotfix. Added a few others. *3: Added More

Some thoughts on some of your changes:
Add a "Library" to the tower, allowing us to view our collected Grimoire cards in game.
-This should intsead of being in the library it should be accessible from your menu, personally If I get a new card and have a moment I try to take a break and look up what that new item is.
Add an Exotic item sold by Xur (20 Coins / 20 Motes) to change the element of a weapon that already has an elemental damage type.
-20 coins/motes is a bit too much, considering that the weapons are selling for 17 coins and the engrams are 23 motes of light, instead make the changes 8/10 coins/motes of light
Add "Raid Tokens" earned from the raid, Add a "Raid Vendor", thinking one of those "Nine" guys could be this, but at the tower all week (His stock could change once a week, or once a day), In order to be allowed to buy items from this vendor, the character must have completed the normal raid once.
-as long as raid coins don't overwrite the other rewards from the raid I am OK with this, again hopefully it doesn't overwrite it. Now for some suggestions: -when you bring up your ghost, you'll see an area map which labels players, as well as ammo packs, and current active bounties for your character. -holding the D-pad buttons allow you to hot switch your primary/special/heavy with what you have in your inventory -Be able to toggle an AFK message on the screen s when people select your character from the roster list, so they don't send 30 invites to somebody who isn't going to respond -for the love of god fix the portals in the Atheon fight, that was the hardest part of the whole boss when we would run through the portal only to end up back in the mars/venus area or ported the the Atheon room with nobody there, I think that accounted for almost all of my deaths yesterday in the raid Hope this helps!

        • You have a lot of good ideas in here. The part I like the most is the fact that most of your balance changes at the end are segregated with some going to PVP only and some going to PVE only. I like how you did that part at the end. I also like some of your suggestions for dealing with the exploits and for also allowing player creativity at the same time. Thanks for putting the time and thought into reorganizing your thoughts based on what you learned from your other topic. Much clearer here.
