Chapter Spot light?
Hm... the 7th column hasn't recived much lovin' as sketch has said, maybe he should make it up to us, by you know, updating that little thing he promised so long ago! =D But you know, that's just my opion.

Ba da ba ba ba... I'm lovin it. You know, that Mcdonalds jingle... thing? Nevermind. I am lovin the new B.Net whether the Spotlight is updated or not but it has been a long time since it was. I am with Yoozel on this. The reason for lack of updates of 7th Column main page stuff, I was told, was because of the new look of Bungie was taking up all of their time. Well it is out and was worth the wait, so maybe the updates will come.

Stosh is dry and witty too! And I'm pretty sure that Sketch would have an emergency override power over the ninjas. "Emergency override Sketch Alpha Zero! Emergency override!" Although, that sort of command did Griffin a fat lot of good with Shinatama. He had to go for his gun. This is shaping up to be quite the showdown. We need a poll for this! ;) - Reiginko

I agree, the 7th Column needs some action. I'm all for getting some of you great active founders to liven things up a bit. That site is testy though, and there are a lot of limitations in the way the permissions and whatnot are set up. I have been thinking of appointing/nominating some sort of 7th Column council who could take office for a period of time. Maybe even have an official 7th Column election or something... Kind of like a student council (maybe not the best comparison). Basically a group of elected officials who would serve as the board of directors for the 7th Column and help take it to new levels and push us closer towards world domination. Stupid? Worth pursuing? Let me know what you guys think. And I think I'll keep my job to myself thank you very much. But I could probably use an assistant or something.

I like the idea of having a ruling concuil, makes us seem covenante like, yet oldly it screms BUNGIE! But it might turn into a popularty contest, and someone might try to rig it some percautions would need to be taken. Assistant? Hm.. I make great trips to snack machines, I cook, clean, and have been on the column for a fair amount of time. *Smiles, holds out wad of cash*

I agree. It would definiately turn into a popularity contest. I think the best results would be yielded if you and Frankie decided it for yourselves personally.

While I would love to be your assistant, I really thing if any one deserves that spot, it should be stosh, since he is the closest thing to a bungie.net staff with out being bungie.net staff, and hes a veteran and a loyalist of bungie. I agree with Sigma, I think a 7th Column council made up of any normal members will only cause division, and basically drama. I mean, a lot of us are active chapter founders, and many of us have good ideas. That's why Chapter Founders was made, right? I think the best bet, would be to quitly push some 7th Column control over to only a few people who you and the team deem worthy. But once again, this shouldn't be a big thing that is announced, and made a big deal out of. Just a few guys who are willing to sort through all the 7th Column junk that comes through, and have something cool to show for it! =)

So basically you want a group of people that can keep the Seventh Column updated and moderated when Halo 2 ships, right? I think it's a reasonable idea. The Council could keep the polls updated, and clear up the news queue for ya. But I think moderation should be one of the Council's main responsibilities to the Column. There are going to be soooo many new chapters when Halo 2 comes out. It's going to be total madness(again). I don't even want to know how some users are going to abuse their privilege to run a chapter. And what IS this about elections??? What is this high school? A lot Seventh Column members are jackasses. Any election held at the Seventh Column would be a total disaster. Freaking JasonH would be the President and Master Xbox would be his right hand man. Seriously though, any election is just going to turn into a popularity contest. All members should be equal, too. No presidents, No vice presidents. That way every member can get their opinion heard. like the idea of a council. But you guys are right, elections would be a total disaster. I hate the idea of a few popular goofers running the show at the 7th. So how do we make sure that the right people will be in the council? hard to say right now. but another thing, how many people will there be in the council? 5, 10, 20? Anyhoo,if the upcomin council ever needs help ( most likely i won't be in it anyway) i will do whatever i can to help!

i think the council thing would work IF we had polls, but sketch or frankie would have ot check them out and see if they are up to the job and not idiots or something..... see if theyve been blackisted for things, see where they are already sucessful staff.... etc etc....and one more etc....

True, now that's I've read this the polls would turn out as just a massive populatrity contest. People would treaten each other, the most respected members of the 7th Column tend to sit back in the dark and due stuff when it's needed. I think sketch and the web team would have better luck if they hand picked the most trustwrothy people. The council should also have the power to vote members off who abuse their power or just all around screw up. Stosh is right alot of people are jackasses on the column, they'd hold their power of the heads of the others, that means the council should be a group of (primialy veterans) people who really would go on an ego trip if they were given special powers. MountainDew? What the hell? That's the only freakin thing on earth to drink! I shall drink it untill my teeth fall out! (just like nab =)
