What is/were the worst job or jobs you've ever had? Currently a 19 year old college student working retail and it's pretty damn shitty.
And what I've learned is to never be mean to workers. I don't get the unnecessarily rude or mean customers.

Working at a big o tires store XD the horrible customers though.

Edited by BloodRaven52455: 10/6/2014 9:08:12 PMI've worked at a Wendy's, a Bel-Air (Raleys) and now work at a golf course. Wendy's was boring with nice coworkers. Belair was stressful work with awesome coworkers and my shitty bosses. the golf course is laid back, I get steady hours and shifts, most coworkers are awesome, my boss is badass, and the work is manly, one downside is that I have to work on the course while golfers are playing. Edit: I have learned through my experience that giving your bosses shit doesn't go great and that customer service is -blam!-ing terrible. Laborer jobs ftw. Double Edit: I desperately worked for a model home maintenance company after I got fired from Belair until the golf course came around. That sucked because I felt like a total woman all the time.

Edited by Doodling Hitman: 10/6/2014 8:41:20 PMI was actually thinking.. And maybe this isn't the place to ask, but I don't feel like it needs its own thread. How much money is a comic worth of like 4-6 panels? I really hope Team 17 could offer me atleast 40 pounds per comic. But maybe that's waaay too much. But 40 pounds per comic would mean 80 for 2. And if Team 17 would accept 2 comics a week I could earn 320 pounds a month which is 407 euros. Now, my dad said I cost around 250 to 300 euros a month with bills and stuff. Now, if I would earn 40 pounds per comic that would mean I could work from home! That would be a 2nd dream come true! (since working for Team 17 is also a dream come true to me) But then the question is.. Is a comic worth 40 pounds? I thought Team 17 could maybe suggest that since they do well as a company, and I have no contract in which they need to pay more things for me. Only 40 pounds for a comic and that's that. I could also do with 30 pounds per comic. Then I'd end just over 300 euros a month. I could then always get a small job next to it, but I wouldn't need a full job that requires me to go in 40 hours a week. I really hope Team 17 will offer me atleast above 30 pounds. :3

I had two internships at shitty stores. Though the people in the 2nd store I worked with were nicer. In the first one too, but there were some weirdos and my boss was an ass.. But now I am glad those times are over! I am currently working my way up to work from home with creating comics. Team 17 already wants me to create comics for them once a week. And maybe more if I can. If later on I can create more and they are willing to pay, then maybe I can earn enough for a decent living and work from home being my own boss doing what I love! :D

I enjoyed all my jobs...

I hated serving at casual/sports bars. PARENTS WHO HAVE CHILDREN WHO PLAY SPORTS ARE SOME OF THE MEANEST PEOPLE EVER ;_; Also a guy threw his fries at me that was cool. But serving in family friendly finer dining is my favorite. I make a wonderful living for being 20 and I don't get shit thrown at me or people trying to get free food.

Edited by Otthild: 10/6/2014 8:21:03 AMI used to go door to door selling lawn care services. I did this in the dead of winter with snow on the ground. My employer is crazy and I never once got paid. Working at Walmart was hell, but my job was actually fun when everyone did theirs.

Retail is pretty crappy. Did it for too many years, made it into a career at one point, and realized the higher you go up the ladder in the company, the crappier it gets. Keep it temporary and aim for your degree. So worth it in the long run.
