CE isnt a classic because its good

Its a classic because at the time, it was the first of its kind, and no one had seen anything like it. It revolutionarised gaming. People were amazed. But now, ten years later, you lok a it and realise ifs a pretty crap game The only reason people still say they love it is because they loved it at the time and refuse to let go, and refuse to let newer games in. Thats why theres so much hate for Reach IMO. And i think Bungie knew this. They knew no one had seen anything like it, and they would be so blown away by it that they woulldnt realise how crappy a game it was. They didnt have to make it good. They could have easily made it to the quality of Halo 2 or Halo 3. These two games are great because bungie realised people would expect more. I know i said i'd leave you guys alone, but i had to get this off my chest. Now to prepare for the armies of evil nostalogic people (sorry been playing too much Oblivion) And any typos in thispost are down to this crappy iPad, not me

 •
Posted by: I RaveN I
Posted by: Mark V guy But i will also go and play my good, under scripted good rated game Halo 2.
lolwat. Even as an h2v fanboy, I admit h2 campaign sucks.
Halo 2 campaign was by far the worst of the series. 1) Linear, labyrinthine gameplay What happened to the huge battlefields of Halo CE? The largest play space in the game was in Quarantine Zone, and that doesn't even begin to compare with the vast landscapes of AOTCR, Two Betrayals, and the level "Halo". 2) Garbage feeling weapons Halo CE's weapon sandbox was pretty much perfect. Each weapon had it's own purpose, and felt completely different to other weapons. There were no redundant weapons, and the plasma weapons had this really cool feel to them (Which was in part due to the look of the CE shield indicators ). Halo 2? The only weapon I really enjoyed using was the Battle Rifle. Every other weapon felt bland and unenjoyable to me. 3) Humanizing the aliens, destroying the Halo CE feel You want to know what Halo CE reminded me of? The fantastic movie "Aliens". The entrance of the creepy Flood which we knew nothing about, the menacing elites, and the alien environments. What did Halo 2 do? It decided to give the Covenant personalities, and make the Flood fracking poetic. I don't mind giving the Covenant intelligence, but at least make them retain their native growls in combat. And the Flood is supposed to be this mysterious, virulent life form that the player encounters in deep space. The Gravemind speaking english pretty much ended that for me. I could go on and on about the specifics of game mechanics and sandbox balance, but I feel I've made my point.
