I've seen a lot of people opinions on Destiny on here, and I though it would be nice to consolidate it into one poll. On a scale of 1 through 5, what do you think of Destiny so far? Also post why you felt that way in the comments. This should show what we as a community think of the game if enough people vote. I understand it is early on and there is more content on the way, but votes can be changed if it changes your opinion. [spoiler]Also a quick PSA: #gaming was intended for talking about games other than destiny. Let's just help the guys in there out by keeping out treads in the appropriate areas. Thank you. • 3/5 is fair. 4/5 is pushing it but understandable. Anything else is a little extreme.

  • It's not quite a 5, but I can't stop playing so it gets a 4 at least.

  • Thought I'd resurrect this to see if the community is still favorable to Destiny. Queens Wrath seemed to have upset some people...

      • I gave it a 5/5. This is based on nothing other than the fact that I love playing this game. Does it have problems? Yes. But perfection is an unrealist yardstick to measure against. It is entirely reasonable that if you don't care for it, or you think there are things that must be improved, then you might give it a lower score. That's fair enough and you have to call it how you see it. For me though, any review score is irrelevant. The only fact that I care for is whether bungie/activision make enough to keep funding this game. Because I want keep playing it.

        • 8/10 is my rating. Terrible campaign, but excellent execution of game mechanics. Fair amount of content, good replayability, interesting maps, and great, tight gunplay, accentuated with fun, unique skills for each class

            • 3.5, it's a cool game very fun. But it has so much missing features that could make it great. They need to just patch all that in and we would be bueno

              • I gave it 3/5. The gunplay is fast and enjoyable, the story's intriguing and it looks great. However it doesn't come close to living up to the hype and I have serious doubts about its longevity. In conclusion its good but not great.

I give it a 4/5, short story, needs more strikes, few more pvp maps, The actual story is not bad, but it is short for game standards now, games like sky and fallout blow the story long of destiny out the water, but those games don't have integrated PvE and pvp. The main problem is that bungie, promised to much and we expected to much. What this game needs, is more of everything. Much more story, at least like 12-16 more missions for story. A few more pvp maps. At least 3-5 more strikes. And last but not least,,, Custom games where we can pick the map and pick the things like gravity or length of supers, THAT IS WHAT DESTINY IS MISSING, A CUSTOM GAME WHERE WE CAN HAVE A SWORD FIGHT. WHAT ABOUT HAVING THE SWORD IN PVP. IM ON A ROLL. I NEED MY FORGE BACK FROM THE HALO TIME. THE GAME IS STILL FRESH SO BUNGIE GET TO IT, B4 IT GET STALE

The lack of story is what seems to be the biggest complaint across the board. I guess I understand that since this is a console game, its bringing in mainly console gamers. They are confused in what the game is about. I can almost promise you if this was a PC only game, it would be scoring 8.5-9.5 across the board. It plays just like DIablo 3. A game that has the most cliched story of all time. But the story isn't why you play diablo. You play it to kill thousands of enemies, increasing your power as you go, and trying to find that one perfect piece of gear. Destiny takes a bit further and adds some MMO-lite features in raids, faction grinding, and PVP. I just cant understand why gears of war, call of duty, titanfall can score so high, when they have less content than destiny. The complaint of repetition in areas doesnt even hit until after you have finished the campaign and hit 20. That campaign is 15+hours. How long was the last call of duty? And while we are on those games, the campaigns are wack a mole, shooting galleries. Run down a corridor, enemies pop up directly in front you and shoot and duck. No flanking, no retreating, no tactics, no challenge. Honestly the only shooter campaign i have ever thought was really good was Halo, and thats because of the level design and enemy AI improvements we got starting with halo 3. Anyway, Destiny is everything I have ever wanted out of an MMO hybrid. I get to jump in an out of action in a moments notice. Hop between PVE and PVP whenever my heart desires. I can play for an hour or 5 and feel like I accomplished something. I cant beat a player in PVP who out levels and gears me. And I could go on, but you get the point. For me at least, its the perfect game. I haven't been able to get into MMOs in the last few years because they are so boring. Games like Diablo and monster hunter scratched the itch, but didnt require me to sync up my schedule with 10-20+ other players to accomplish anything. By adding fantastic shooting combat to the formula, adapting it for a console environment, and reducing the amount of players needed to succeed late game, bungie has made the perfect game for me. As long as they continue to support it and add content, I will be here playing.

                        • 4/5 because story is to short and kinda repetitive also why is salvage only a 2 day thing? It is easily the most fun of the crucible options. They are finally adding stuff but then just taking it away? What's up with that!

Tough Love: 3/5. Anything above that is just being oblivious to the game's faults.

                        • I cannot be absolutely certain until I see how the raid is and what other events and support they continue to give this game. I'll think about it in at least a few weeks.

I absolutely love this game but Story is too terrible to earn anything more than 3. The gameplay mechanics is 6 on 5. Its THAT good. Borderlands doesn't even come close to it. Not to mention borderlands on console gives Me nausea but destiny doesn't have that problem either. This game had so much potential but horrible story horrible dialogs cheesy names and a total lack of involvement. I don't even care or want to know about fallen vex etc. It just seems that you as a guardian is disconnected in a boring universe. If I did not care for a story I would go get other FPS. The mmo aspect of it is ruined a little when there is no involvement in the universe. It's.not just your own character. Even the bosses are not memorable other than bullet sponge minutes it took but lacking character or interest.

                        • destiny is a 3/5 at best. the story is terrible which is one of the major let downs since they said they want it to sit up there with the Lord of the -blam!-ing rings and star wars. The gameplay is also incredibly repetitive and offers no diversity in mission types which is a real bummer.

                        • I would have said 5/5 if my PS4 bundle didn't break on me. Talk about ruining a game, this is it.

                          • 4/5 as it stands. I'm not quite finished with the plot as I've been busy levelling up (23 warlock). As stories go its relatively bland with few memorable characters but I suspected they may fall into that trap when making an mmo styled game. For that reason I'm still happy with the game as everything else it offers, especially level 20 onwards, is incredibly fun. There's also enough there as far as I have gotten anyway, to familiarise you with the world in preparation for the additions to this "living world" that can be expected. The reason I've only gone for 4/5 though is simply because of a few flaws to the system. Firstly, the cap to the marks is far too low. Nobody want to have to grind then wait a week and grind some more to get one piece of gear or a weapon. It just feels like an excuse to drag it out so people will keep coming back. The problem is it will work against them in this form as it leaves people unwilling to get involved in public events or do strikes when they cap out as they just won't be rewarding enough. I like to be constructive so I'm going to aim to suggest solutions and for this one I would suggest either a daily cap of say, 25. This would keep the restrictikns intended to keep a level playing field but also keep players coming back daily with the feeling of progression. My next issue is engrams. Great idea that hasn't been executed very well. They are rare, hard enough to find to keep you searching. Some have found farming locations on patrols and some have found strike exploits and you can collect quite a few. The issue is that they appear to punish you more often than rewarding you. I've read a number of posts of people finding rare, legendary anf even exotic engrams that have been taken to the cryptarch and end up a grade below the engram. I have only found one legendary but many rare and 9/10 come out a grade below. Perhaps it is my rank that is the cause of both their rarity and the downgrades and if it is then I would be glad to hear people tell me otherwise and give me a bit more information on the matter if it is the case that I am mistaken. (Cryptarch rank 4) Until I have better data I can't confirm if this is a real issue or just a part I haven't quite understood. Otherwise great game. The above are small issues I have and in honesty I can live with them. Its a great price to pay for the many hours I've put into it and especially so given that I intend to continue playing this for a long while.

                            • 3.5, honestly. I like the game, but it has a few flaws in it. For example, it claims to be a social game, yet it has very poor communication options. In fact, it basically has none. If your friends aren't playing, you're basically screwed. You can't talk to randoms unless you invite them to your fireteam. Let's face it, that's time consuming and pretty nonsensical for a "social MMO." Like I said, I like this game. However, I would definitely change a few things.
