How bout we stop caring about looks and focus on gameplay and mechanics. We focus on looks and crap that doesn't matter we will end up with a crapy game like CoD or Titan Fall.

People don't use shitty guns on cod or titanfall. They use the guns with the best stats because both of those games are highly competitive (mostly cod). It would make no sense for a strict PvP game to just use all the shitty guns. You make no sense. Destiny is exactly like an mmo... who gives a -blam!- what guns people use. Everyone's gonna use the statistically best guns for PvP (if they're serious about competitve play) and the badass looking ones for PvE. That's just how it goes.

I feel like you gravely underestimate how serious the PvE players will be, raiders will be just as statistically serious, if not more then the PvP group

There's going to be a large variety of players with different play styles. There's always going to be the hard core/competitive players (I'm in this group) no matter what. The point that I was trying to make was that there's always going to be hardcore players and there's always going to be people bitching about them.

CoD might be played competitively but as a competitive game it's a piece of shit. People in cod can use the worst looking gun in the game with the worst stats and they can camp, spray, or rush and try hard no matter what it's all the same. Right off the back I can tell you it takes no skill to play. If it did my 5 year old cousins should not be able to pick it up first try and do just as good as anyone else playing. As for Titan fall I've never played it so I couldn't say. But I play enough CoD to know.

I'm saying that Destiny isn't going to have these huge tournaments with $500,000 payouts like COD. Trust me you have to have some skill to actually play against other competitive players. That's why I think this whole debate is just dumb. It's never going to turn into COD like people keep saying it will. People are just complaining to complain at this point.

Regardless it will definitely be a better competitive game then CoD. The people who want another copy and paste shit game like CoD will end up leaving for reasons like "oh it's to hard to kill people" "My shot gun doesn't shoot far enough" "What I don't spawn with LMG ammo!?!?" And my personal favorite "It's not realistic" Give it a few months and all the ignorant kids will leave after the game releases.

So because he decides to use weapons that look and feel good to him instead of just on stats you say that his likes are "crap that doesn't matter?" Everyone has their own playstyle. Some like to use things that only work cosmetically with their outfit. Others will use armour, guns, etc. regardless of how crappy they feel or look. Personally, I like to do a mix of both. Let's let people play the game they want to play. TL:DR Just because you only care about stats doesn't mean that others don't care about how weapons look and feel.
