Question about Internet services

Is 5MB down and 1MB up a good Internet speed? I am currently playing Xbox Live on the Verizon 4G LTE(Yes, playing Live on satellite Internet) and I need a serious Internet upgrade for Destiny. So is 5 down and 1 up good or should I go with the 10 down and 1.5 up? I have no idea what the 4G LTE thing Internet speed is. It works fine though playing online believe it or not, as long as you can get used to a permanent restricted NAT setting :(

That should be more than enough. FPS and MMO games have been working fine with less than that for years. From what I saw in alpha and beta Destiny doesn't put that many entities in with you at the same time compared to even 10 year old games. The draw distance is also not that huge. You biggest annoyance will probably be patch download speed. Edit: ...and latency.

It's decent to okay. On most gaming connections are best done with a 20 to 40 mb plan. If yours is stable and works for most games, primarily those with an online multiplayer focus, then you ought to be good regardless. If you have connectivity issues or find yourself on the slower end of things with other players, then upgrading might be a good idea.
Personally, I have a deal with Century Link because they are one of the only ISPs in my area and I prefer them to Comcast (which isn't necessarily saying much). However, my plan is the 40 mb plan and is roughly 35 mb down and 5 mb up. From what I've been told, that is ideal and the 20 mb is best when you only have one or two things connected at one time, but that was from the people selling me internet, so take that with a bit of salt.
