I found this video personally insightful and his criticism is true considering the hype by many people on YouTube and IGN. I still like Destiny though :D!

He's right bungie doesn't owe you Xbox users anything.
-
I couldn't of said a lot of what was said in this video better myself, most of the Hype with games come from players themselves, and when the hype ends up destroying the game there's really only one thing to blame. And I loled at the "we made you who you are, you owe us" bit. It was great.
-
Exactly. This guy says it all.
-
A few good points. Still a bitch though.
-
Pretty sure if Bungie didn't care for Xbox users, these "exclusives" would be permanent, and not timed.
-
psychologically, he wasn't using rationality to fuel his original view.. he fell into a need of individualism once he noticed how everyone jumped into destiny... that "moving upstream" kind of mentality we sometimes get when we feel something we don't particularly like is mainstream.. although his rant could have been intuitive, he showed too much need to stand out from everyone to be seen as serious and comes off a bit arrogant... made it seem like everyone else is sheep compared to him... though his motive was ill, his message about playing before judging is productive..

Edited by syinn: 8/29/2014 7:52:23 AMAgree with some of his points. IGN and other sites are no doubt over hyping it...Bungie is also very guilty of this. Course every dev wants to say their game is going to be awesome but Bungie overkills it all the time. I was going to try the game for sure but the beta is what sold me on it and I think it was this way for alot of people. The hype is real for a lot of people. He's right about the hate wagon, it seems to be a common thing these days among gamers to just shit on everything that's popular or hyped....So stupid.
-
LOLS! Now, THAT, is proper bitching! I'm totally judging the new COD by 20 minutes of video! F that game!
-
Well for a second I thought this guy was going to shit on Destiny. He didnt even played the alpha. How can you be taken serious as game ranting critic. He also thought thief was a good game I watched a trailer gameplay didn't like the look so I didn't buy it. That's that.

You eat at lunch, you're an idiot. You breath, you're an idiot. By now you go on youtube only to swear and to insult random people... Idiotic society
-
There is no hype being made by bungie. The fans/neck beards/ game critics are instilling over hypeness. Also , all marketing is done by activision, bungie just answers the questions the way activision wants them answered. the game will be great regardless of what condescending judgemental asswhipes believe they were lied to about.
-
Destiny is one of the LEAST hyped games out there. It's laughable to hear people trash it, because none of the complaints about it really hold water. Haters gonna hate
-
Good find. Never heard of him but I like this guy. I especially love the part about these entitled assholes thinking Bungie owes them. I actually made a post a few weeks ago saying the same thing to someone who was complaining that Bungie owes them.

Edited by Ultron: 8/29/2014 3:40:16 PMTHE GUY IS REAL F**** TALK HOLY SHIT, seriously ima sub to this guy. Btw.. he ain't bashing Destiny, just IGN and others who is trying to hype the game that is already reach it maximum and they are trying to hype it up again? = Anti Hype. And this is what happening now, every time I hear news about Destiny ... my hype goes down. I like this guy channel. All real talk. Are all Aussie like this ?! The mentality to see the bullshit ? If so, I need a Female Aussie in my life.
-
My gosh so much swearing, dont get me wrong i can handle some but not every other word. Though from what i gathered just don't have high expectations... Also the intro almost made me deaf and is not headphone friendly.
-
dang, this guys can swear! and tbf he has got a point.
-
Bungie has been hyping too. Just sayin.
-
Ugh, he sounds like a 10-year old who just learned to swear.
-
He wasn't the worst, but he was way too extreme in saying that all hype is bad, nothing is that black and white. Also picking on an institute like IGN seemed like a really cheap tactic to make his point sound internet legit. If a game fails to meet your standard due to the excitement you created than you set unrealistic standards, and as this guy mentioned, you let it get the better of your emotions. However, from what I've seen of IGNs coverage, which I believe is everything, all they did is off gameplay from the devs and some staff, which will all be in the final release, as well as some interviews so you can blame them if you want, but that will just make you a baby that cannot take responsibility for itself.

This argument is retarded and doesn't work in this situation. His points about "anti-hype" are true, but they don't apply to all games that get a lot of hype. Watch-Dogs never had an Alpha, never had a Beta and all we really had was E3 videos that didn't represent what the game actually was. Does anyone feel that way about Destiny? We've played the Alpha and Beta and know, somewhat, what we're getting. If I get what I got in the Beta and then add in a few more planets/areas to explore and missions and enemies than I'm golden. But I know I'll be getting WAY more than that. Sure you shouldn't hype yourself up to the point where it's almost impossible to meet your expectations but I'm sure as $hit getting hyped more than any game in the past 5 years because I know this game is gonna be amazing. Not because of hype, but because of experience and trust in the developer.

i dont agree with some or a majority of things he said. but to me personally some of the things he said are pretty valid.
-
I never get hyped for any game. I am eager to play Destiny, but I'm not on the hype train for Destiny. Hype only leads to disappointment. That's the mistake I made for Dark Souls 2 and BRINK.
-
Good video!! 10 more days!!
-
They can say what they want still going to play
