Destiny launches w/ only one raid.
As the title states, the game [b]launches[/b] with only one raid, the Vault of Glass. I'm assuming more will be added in the expansions.
What are your thoughts?
My source is a recent interview that was just posted on IGN.

Wtf only 1 hopefully the dlc are big like borderlands 2 with new raid bosses

If this disappoints you then you are underestimating how long it will take for the community as a whole to beat it.

I'm betting we'll see the first of the Expansions soon enough to keep our Raid-fires burning. May even be a couple of months after release for PS4 and soon enough after for Xbox. Not too far off the industry standard to launch some DLC a month and a half/two months after release, right? Just in time for a little Bungie Trick-or-Treat Goodies or Thanksgiving Stuffing. And maybe, just maybe, this game will see some evolution in the interim. When the interview said that every experience would be different, or something along that vein, I found that to be quite encouraging. We'll make the Raids last, even if there's just the one at launch.

Well raids are end game and I hope to god I don't get to end game by the end of the week! I'm sure they will put more in just like for example the iron banner or moon mission in the beta!

My thoughts is that Destiny will not be "beaten" in one day. There will be those that will get the game and play non-stop (once servers are up) in an attempt to conquer all the story. One reason I don't think this will happen is that from what has been said xp in the Alpha/Beta was enhanced. We/they won't be level 4 by the time they finish 2 missions. There will be some grinding with Explore/Patrol before attempting the final mission. We recently learned there are perks to getting Grimiore cards ranked up. Strikes can provide decent gear. And once at proper level so can PvP.

So in between people leveling and grinding for gear not many will have completed a raid plus it's going to take awhile to beat because of it's difficulty so we really only need one.

I think they should have added at least 2 and only be able to unlock the second 1 if your clan completed the first on both difficulties

The life of the game is apparently going to be about 2 year. One of those years will bring a major expansion. I really don't see them adding too many raids, may one more, two at most. And seeing as you have to do a lot of organizing on your part with your party, that should be enough, don't get your hopes up too high.

4 RepliesRaids are endgame content which means it'll take a while before we are ready for them and Bungie has stated that they will be difficult to the point that we will need several attempts to beat it. Seeing as I will replay strikes multiple times I'm sure I'll want to BEAT the raid multiple times as well. The one raid at launch should have no problem keeping me and most other players occupied until the next one comes out via expansion.

1 raid will be enough to start with. First xpac comes out in dec. So more content then amd the 2nd is out soon after that.. more raods will come. Lets see how long it takes to clear the first one hehe.

4 RepliesVery disappointed. The addition of checkpoints also makes it seem like it won't be that difficult in mind, but I guess we shall have to wait and see. I was think more like 3 raids at launch but oh well.

I it's alright, I think people are expecting it to be a cake walk. It won't. Like most raids I've done it'd take a big chunk of time to get it right, and if it's the type that has multiple bosses then great!

I havent done raids yet and from what read about them im looking at lvl 20 before i do a raid anyway

WoW only had one major raid when it came out, molten core, and it was still enough to keep people busy for a while.

One of the DLCs will include a raid.

15 RepliesThey'll have to add more. With only 30 levels, we will beat that raid before the expansion whenever it comes out. And for the price of the expansion (£30+) there better be a helluva lot of stuff in there
