The reason males choose female characters
Its because its a role playing game your guardian does not have to to be a spitting image of you maybe people like the smaller build because the want a ninja character
Others because the just want too why do males choose a male character do you like looking at a man constantly? I don't that's why I choose a female they are more appealing to me and my play style. And I don't think people should be called names based upon there play style. Rant over

2 RepliesIt really comes down to this. There are people who think of their characters as extensions of themselves and there are people who think of their characters as exactly that a character. If a man plays tomb raider is that strange? No because he is just playing a character. I dont think that I am the character I make. I think of them as independent creations. In closing if you just stop hitting on any digital females you come across this wouldn't be an issue.

Reading through a lot of these messages, in the case of Destiny, how much time are you planning on spending in the tower that you would be looking at your back for "100+ hours"? The rest of the game is in first person.... Those of you mentioning other reasons are of course not inclusive of this question

5 RepliesPeople should play whatever they feel most comfortable on. It shouldn't make a difference to any true gamer, unless it affects the story you will experience. Eg 'Dragon Age'. I am a man and normally make a male character, for online play. My reasons... I prefer to be honest and upfront with other gamers. For their benefit and mine. I don't need heaps of males with smokescreen agendas, hovering around and throwing me invites all the time, because they are hoping to meet women who like gaming. I wouldn't want them to waste their time doing so. It's lame. I'd much rather laugh at my attempt to recreate myself, using the in-game tools. Or just make something that should give others a few good laughs. Games are supposed to be fun. (To those it concerns) - Physical attraction to an avatar?!... Irrelevant in a game. None of its real. And it's kinda pitiful to think that that's even important to some players, when the real thing is out there. And surely, it's unimportant with a game like Destiny anyway?! It's a FPS. All the classes are well covered up with armor. It's rated T. So much fast paced action too... What exactly would any of you hope to see? Guardians in thongs?...An orgy at the tower?... Lmao. Turn off your console and go get some. Thats an order, Guardians!

The fact that you antagonise by stating "do you like looking at males constantly" makes you go from a nice guy explaining why he makes his decision to a complete homophobic dick that is trying to make everyone else look gay. Now onto point number 2. You are a douche because you put this in #Destiny, destiny is a first person shooter, the only time you actually see your avatar is during a super, their hands while holding a guy and in the tower. I prefer playing female chars in games despite being male... not really sure why, a part of it is that I can never get a male character to look the way I want him and even if I'm satisfied at creation I get annoyed by their looks pretty fast. I do have a penchant for small...ish women kicking ass though.. one of the reasons I love femshep

Has nothing to do with looking at a pixelated ass as everyone always says. I'll be a male awoken warlock for Destiny. But femshep every single time. I was a female gnome with pink pigtails in WoW. Just because I thought it was awesome killing people (pvp server) with a pink pigtailed female gnome with daggers almost as tall as she was.

Girls who have played video games for a while have most likely played as a guy in more games than one. It's only recently that it has become a normal choice because the gamer population has way more girls than a decade ago. Playing as a big buff Marcus Fenix doesn't mean you want to be him in real life, lol, but it's fun to kick butts as Fenix. Same applies for guys playing as Lara Croft i suppose. It's all fantasy, playing as the Master Chief or female Shepard is a ton of fun, regardless of your gender ;)

Picking a male magical space robot is definitely closer to myself than a female human magical space warrior. Wait... The only pervs are the ones complaining about guys playing girls cos they are horny dogs who want to bother women in game. Get all upset and limp when my deep, manly voice comes over the mic XD
