Why is there a "console war"
People really need to get a grip on this so called "console war". Bungie is making a great game for BOTH consoles. There are the occasional TIMED exclusives. It's not like they only made the game for PS. Either way, there are exclusive games for both consoles so it goes both ways. Everyone needs to just grow up. I don't want there to be an XBOX community and than a PS community. I want it to be one big gaming community. Thank you.

Cause fanboys are childish people who can't afford nothing more other that their current purchase this applies to PC fanboys too. I have an X1, gaming PC and will be getting a ps4 when the games I want come out.

Because we have nothing better to do between launches? They both have good and bad points. I would like to see games released on all systems so we can all enjoy them. The game companies will make more and hopefully use some of that cash to make better games. The circle of life and gaming.

1) People have nothing better to do but think this stuff up. #Firstworldproblems 2) I don't see how someone else getting something slightly extra on a completely different console effects my game in the least. That's like complaining that Germany has a better Bread than my Deli down the street...

ain't nobody got time for "console wars" when destiny comes out no one will even touch their laptops ( well only to look up the best places to farm in the game and for youtube tutorials) but rather than that Destiny to the fullest

1 ReplyTo many people you'll see on here, the cost of their preferred console is a lot for them. When they sacrifice that much cash on a product they take insult to the fact that other people are buying a competitor's product. Coming on the internet and putting others down for buying a rival console is just their way of validating their choice. As if there is one console perfect for everyone--it's ludicrous. So next time you see someone fanning the flames of a console war just know that that person is extremely insecure.

So I have never understood this either, but if you really want an answer to your question... Ask yourself if it is weird that people scream at each other at sporting matches, or root for their favorite college or pro sports teams while at the same time talking about how the other team sucks. I submit that most people find this okay and healthy to a certain degree. Personally I can understand rooting for your team, but I have never been able to understand putting down another team. However, if you go to any sporting event this is ubiquitous and so it must fall under normal human behavior. As such, I find this a close parallel to the console wars. Think Duke vs Carolina in the Final Four. The annoying difference in the particular console war is that with sporting events people usually just do this as a means to have fun, (albeit some are very serious about it). With the console wars people actually confuse a number of facts with opinions which makes it odd. But all difference breeds competition, even in nature. Just try bringing a new animal into your house with other resident animals around. Another main difference is that with sporting events there is an end game and a score. So even if your team loses, you can say, "I still think we are the best, but your team was better today." There is not an xbox vs playstation competition per se, and one was never set up in the same fashion as a sporting event so that tension that would be relieved by an end-game-score just continues to build. ...like I said, I don't personally understand it, but this is the best answer I could muster up to your question through analogy.

5 RepliesNone of those consoles or pc rigs holds a candle to my favorite gaming system. When I play rugby with my friends, or go on a date, the resolution is amazing and is contiguous with no need for any sort of "frame rate." It happens in real time in this amazing open-world environment called "outside". "Outside" is a completely comprehensive engine with multiple working currency systems and it even has olfactory experiences where you can smell the things around you. Also, there is sex, thats outside as well.

Console wars are stupid, most of us agree. So why are we letting people & companies get away with running around yelling "PS4 tops XBOX" or "PC master race" or "XBOX's Biggest fan FOR LIFE" it's all a matter of preferance & can't we all agree that games on all platiforms is awesome.

If they BOTH SHARED they would BOTH be more $$ and we would ALL be happier but they are again, IDIOTS. To me I just went and got a PS4 because Destiny was made basically for it and I eventually would have to pick and I'm DONE with m$.

People argue for their console to try to attract more people to play with them. My friends are split down the middle on PS4/Xbone. If they all had the same console, we could be friends online. But as it is, we're at war!
