Might as well have called your thread the official butt hurt thread. Many people who oppose these features have already given plenty of polite and detailed responses on to why they feel that way. By making another thread about this stuff doesn't help anyone. It only wastes peoples time. It's painfully obvious that you don't understand the full effects of things. Because if you did your entire thread wouldn't boil down to "you don't have to use it there fore it doesn't effect those people."

Let me give you an example of thing you don't fully understand the full effects of. Because of the "Friends Only" limitation on custom games in Halo. I NEVER PLAYED ANY CUSTOM GAMES! I WOULD HAVE PLAYED NOTHING BUT CUSTOMS! If only it was possible without wasting my time spamming invites to recent players that are just as likely to block and ignore the invite as they are to accept it. Think about that for a second. It's people like you that don't fully realize the gravity of the decision you make when you limit options like this. And so far, Destiny is looking like one big fat "Friends Only" scenario. Internet gaming was built on Randoms playing with/against randoms. GET THAT THROUGH YOUR -blam!-ING HEADS. Talk about wasting time.... Here let me close down, Alt-tab out, etc. of my game. And log on to a forum..... to try to find people to play 1 gametype. THAT IS A -blam!-ING WASTE OF TIME! And realize this too. Because of the "Friends Only" limitation. Even if I did go through the routes that bungie left to me... You know what kind of custom games I would have been limited too? Not the ones I wanted to play.. that's for sure. Cause custom gaming for me.... has nothing to do with the gay shit that the "Custom Community" like to play. (Zombies, Fat Boy, Duck Hunt, etc) My idea of custom gaming was stuff that would be more akin to what an MLG game settings would look like. And again, in case you missed the point. All I see of Destiny, is one giant -blam!--up as far as Bungie and the rest of you not Fully thinking about this stuff. Can we all agree... Spending time in a forum trying to get people to play the game, instead of playing the game....is a waste of time. Spending time failing a mission in a game with randoms...... is not a waste of time. BECAUSE I AM PLAYING THE GAME INSTEAD OF BROWSING A FORUM, IN AN ATTEMPT TO PLAY THE GAME! I could give a shit how many times I fail a mission.. At Least I am playing.

Not Angry over the video game. Angry at all the morons out there apologizing for and defending the decsions of a developer who is clearly making some very VERY dumb decisions. Because you idiots think that developers are somehow Gods who can make no mistakes. And yet, even when presented with fact after fact showing that a developer like Bungie is making mistakes. You still choose to blind yourself like the dumbass fanboys that you are. You don't make shit like quit bans to solve a quitting issue that is caused by the matchmaking system you created. You don't honestly think that a small handful of employees can come up with game rules for millions of players. In other words, My idea of a good time at Halo did not include an overabundance of vehicles on the map. Yet every damn time I got a chance to play a particular map such as Bloodgulch. 99% of the time, it had WAY TO MANY -blam!-ING VEHICLES. A simple game setting, is all it was. And Bungie and the rest of you -blam!- chose to limit people like me to playing your -blam!-ed up Vehicle spam gametypes, because.... "Who wants to play custom with randoms?" I -blam!-ING DO! Destiny is pretty much the same exact concept of how much they -blam!-ed up in their decisions on how they handled custom games for Halo and forge for that matter. Forge + Friends only customs = Wasted Potential. All I see is a severe oversight and underestimating the type of people who could have benefited from a more open system. Because somehow you think a couple of people can cater to the needs of Millions. The only way to cater to the millions is to give each individual control over their own experience. But instead you lump every individual in with the "Majority" -blam!- the majority.

  • OOOHHHHH! I see the problem. You don't have any friends. It all makes sense now. That is what your posts boil down to. You do realize, even if they had custom games, it would still be friends only, correct?

  • Again, way to angry over a video game. Private matches, no private matches, who cares. All that should matter is if you enjoy a game or not. And people trust Bungie because Bungie has always delivered. You trust people who have proved they are trustworthy until they fail you, not the other way around. Seriously kid, if you don't like the game, move along. Simple as that.

Do I need to remind you.... of something Bungie pioneered Matchmaking. They failed the entire gaming community since they first created Halo 2 and matchmaking. You know how many PC games I have now that are using a MM system that was pioneered by them, with no other options like a server browser anymore? Just a simple, "Pick a playlist" and wait. No options, no settings, just a playlist. Bungie has delivered, us into a gaming abyss. Where forums are filled to the brim with people whining about EVERYTHING! And why do people whine about everything? Because you took control away from us. Because you/they are trying to control every aspect of how we experience the game. All they have to do, is give control back to the players... and forums would calm down everywhere.

  • i agree with Epicfailville. If you are this upset over how a developer is making their game, then walk away. how hard is that? This game will have DLC's and sequels. come back when they do implement what you are looking for in this game. Life is too short to get this upset over a video game developer.

  • You think match making is bad? You would rather scroll trough lists of games instead of picking a single game type and joining a game? Nothing you say at this point will be taken seriously. Go home kid, you're drunk.

Yes, I would rather scroll through a list of rooms. You know why? Because I know how to choose a room. I can't help it that you are incapable of making a choice when presented with multiple choices. But don't limit the rest of us because of your inabilty to choose from a list. And.. Was BTB playlist, a single gametype? NO IT WASN'T But, in fact it was. It was basically a TDM gametype 99% of the time. Not the reason I chose the BTB playlist. Because of the voting, that's what it became. Tell me again, who doesn't fully think these things out. Cause Bungie sure as hell didn't.

  • If you really think picking a server to play on is a difficult choice, I'm not sure how you make it through your day to day life. It's not about difficulty of choice, it's about ease of use. With bungies matchmaking I can select a game type I want to play and find a game immediately, instead of browsing a huge list of servers trying to find a decent looking game that isn't ran by some douchebag who limits half the weapons in the game and kicks people off just because he doesn't like your name. As I said, Bungie has yet to fail the gamer community. If you feel like you'd rather search for games then play games, theirs always Battlefield for you to go to. We all know how well those servers work.

I've been gaming for a long, long time. Probably longer than you. I've been kicked out of server browser games..2 times in my entire lifetime. And I've been playing since Doom, on a 14.4k modem. And I've probably played, about 90% of what would be considered mainstream multiplayer games. In the 90's, there were a lot of server browser games. That were being hosted by real people, instead of an algorithm. How many times have YOU been kicked out of a server because the host didn't like your name? How many times have you ever played in a server browser environment? Because these excuses... Are as as full of shit as you are. Here, watch this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56AterZg8-Y Another game that decided to pick up a very Bungie Like Matchmaking System that you think is "ease of use". Also, No I don't think picking a server is a hard choice. But I do think you have a hard time with your choice of words. Because you are advocating picking a playlist... not a server. In case you missed the point Here's a TL:DR for you.. you probably need it. THE GOAL IS TO GIVE MORE OPTIONS NOT LESS! YOU DO NOT DEFEND THE CHOICE TO TAKE AWAY OPTIONS! YOU DO NOT TRY TO JUSTIFY IT! YOU DON'T MAKE EXCUSES FOR IT! Matchmaking = Limited options Server Browser = Lots of Options No MM for Raids = Limited No Proximity Chat = Limited No Private Matches = Limited No Public Custom Games = Limited The only real con to giving the players more options is that. The players or at least those who host... tend to start settling into the 'cream of the crop'. They no longer waste their time playing stuff like Oddball, or whatever Then we get people like you who get frustrated that the "Majority" doesn't really have an interest in playing anything other than Bloodgulch CTF. But, all of your complaints refer to games that typically have 64 players on a single server. And you, like me tend to sort your list by the amount of players in it and look for the biggest room. You can't judge how 64 player servers settle into a small handful of gametypes vs allowing peer to peer public hosted custom games in Halo. Which at most were 16 players max on the console. Oh and did I mention I actually played alot of 4v4 custom games on the original Xbox via XBconnect, And I still didn't see all these BS excuses you make about getting kicked from a room.

  • Yes, your years of playing games has made you wise!! Or most likely you just don't like change. I've been playing games for quiet awhile myself, and I can tell you this: things change, nothing stays the same. If you really hate where gaming is right now, stop playing. What I can tell from your posts is that age and wisdom are two separate things. You're stuck in the past and don't want to advance, while I've watched gaming evolve as I grew up with it and embraced it. I remember sitting in my parents living room playing Zelda on my NES, and now I sit in my own living room of my house playing amazing games on my Xbox One. I've been through it all too, so don't think just because your old that you have more experience in gaming then I do.

Stuck in the past.. Ok since when did Change and Evolution go from, giving me every option I need to pick exactly what I want to play to.... Limiting me to the majority of my time playing someone elses preferences. There is good change and there was bad change. Server Browsers are superior to Matchmaking in almost every way. Matchmaking does have some benefits over a Server Browser though. You know where Matchmaking excels? Throwing Random players at you. That's it. You know where Bungie -blam!-ed up? By making it throw random maps and gametypes as well. By making it a vote to see what gets played. By forcing people to have to quit from matches to get a point across. You know where Bungie is -blam!-ing up again? By allowing you to pick an exact gametype (Raids) But taking away the ease of having randoms thrown at you so you can play it right when you have an interest to play it. Not 24 hours later. Remember this too People are more likely to quit out of a match they are losing.. if they don't like the map or the gametype. compares to if they did like the map and gametype. But lets create a quit ban... because. They should like playing the game types we set out for them DAY AFTER DAY AFTER DAY. Because it takes us like half a year to update the playlists to something new. But then we have to delete a playlist that some people might like to make room for the new stupid ones. Because we have to worry about fracturing the community. I don't doubt that you are also like all the other idiots that believe that Bungie making playlist by gametypes instead of themes... would have meant too many playlists. Apparently.... Deathmatch Team Deathmatch Oddball KotH CTF 5 x 2 = 10 (BTB versions of all gametypes) 5 x 3 = 15 (Hardcore/Swat Versions of all Gametypes) Would have apparently fractured the community. That should have been the basic structure. Instead, we got this Team Deathmatch Swat BTB (Variety, Voted to TDM 90% of the time) Lone Wolves (Variety, TDM 90% of the time) Another Lame "Theme" (Variety, TDM 90% of the time) Team Objective (Variety, TDM 90% of the time) Titanfall (Attrition 90% the time)

  • Go play battlefield if you're so bent out of shape over matchmaking. You are literally the only person I have ever heard complain about it. You go on and on about freedom of choice in gaming. You're choice isn't taken from you, you don't have to choose to play this game. Matchmaking is widely loved and excepted by the gaming community so it's not going anywhere. So you want choice? Ether choose to accept it and move on, or continue to belly ache over it. Either way I'm choosing to move on from this conversation. Good day to you sir.

  • You talk about being older and yet you act so immature. Go ahead and post after me, I don't care about the last word. I simply want you to realize how much of a child you are. You keep posting because you feel the last word on a forum is important, it's actually quiet sad. So I'll do you a favor. Post after me. Take the last word. I assume that's all you have in life if it's that important to you. At this point I truly do mean have a good day sir, I will not speak to you from this point on.
