First off I'm hunter. Always will be. It feels like people already don't want hunters in their raid group. They say because it has no support sub class and would be useless. As someone who has raided for many years I know how important a dps is. Going into a raid with all warlocks and titans with their support sub classes active just won't work well. You need those killing machines. Could be a hunter, maybe a Titan with striker or warlock with it's void damage.
The other thing is we don't even know at this point if the suspected third sub class for hunter is support or not. It may end up being some long rang heal or maybe even something that grants all your team invisibility. Who knows. Not sure why people are already shunning the hunter for raids but I can see the hunter being great in a raid as a bladedancer and I can't wait to see what the third sub class is if in fact we get one at release. It may very well end up being the best support sub class in the game, it may not but the point is hunters for life. Just like a lot of people who think the Titan is the best melee I beg to differ. Hunters melee is incredible.
Note: I am not saying one class is better than the other. I actually think they are all great and I'll play all of them. Hunter will always be my main though. Just like the speed and throwing knife and the jump fits my playstyle. Very fast.

How about who cares what class you are.. It's an fps, if you're good you'll play well. If you're bad, you play poorly. This is not like warcraft, classes won't mean dick in this game. 6 locks should be able to do as much as 6 titans or 6 hunters. Strategies may vary but if you're good at fps 's in general then what class you play won't matter
-
Lol where do u even get this
-
Yeah didn't like being paired with 2 Hunters in Raids...I remember being in an all Hunter raid team. Oh boy...haha
-
Wait.. You're listening to the anti-hunter forum shit posts?
Their just jelly about your cloak
-
Yes dps is very important, but in every mmo there is always the greatest abundance of dps classes. So first a group is going to get the classes that are a must for the win, and then easily pick up a couple of the dps classes that are begging for a group.
-
To me you'd want two of each class in a RP both with different subs and the killing machines will be determined by enemies as some classes will be better than others for killing certain enemies. They will then rotate based on the enemies and the situation

Edited by Eternity: 8/10/2014 1:04:32 AMHave you actually been listening to anything Bungie has ever said about the 3 classes? Your supers can only be used once every few minutes (as opposed to a traditional MMO, where you would be using multiple unique class skills every second). They are more like 'perks' than actual skills which will allow you a specialist role in a raid. All classes are DPS, there are no tanks or healers. Being able to put up a bubble shield for a few seconds every 4 minutes is not fulfilling the role of a tank.

Don't worry, they'll love us when we're the only people left alive to revive them. Invisible medic for the win yo.

Why would some one start screwing a hunter in the middle of a raid? #Dudumdumtshhh

From what I know of the game, the only thing hunters will be SLIGHTLY worse at is aoe damage. Let's face it, even at the most opportune times, you probably won't hit more than 5 enemies in PVE with a piercing golden gun over all three shots, whereas a titan smash or warlock energy ball, when well placed, could hit like 7+ enemies, depending on the situation. However, as has been said, you don't charge your super all that fast, so the classes come down to a matter of perks. Do you want toughness and whatever else a titan has? Then be a titan. Want to sling a ball of goo once in awhile? Go warlock. Want to throw knives, or blink strike everyone to death, with the occasional big gun or lightning knife, and just generally be badass? Then be the ultimate class: Hunter :P

As long as my light burns, and my knife is in hand, the darkness cannot overtake me
-
This will be hunter x hunter
-
That's my same play-style, first of all, so cheers. Second of all, I completely agree with you. All classes are great in their respective ways.
-
I would have thought raiders would be all about DPS...... DPS is the key to everything in large scale MMO. DPS wins fights, DPS is the first to be cleaned of the field, DPS are the high numbers that make fights winnable..... sure I am not intending to be one..... but I appreciate what it does....actually if there was a class that let me combine high Armour with DPS I would be all over that.

Luke Smith encouraged that there was no "specified" roles in raids. Everyone shoots stuff. You can have support kits but you have to remember that most of them exist only when a super is active.
-
We're making a lot of assumptions about a game we don't fully understand yet.
-
The only people that will be screwed out of raids are bad people.
-
As a Titan, I will gladly raid with my hunter and warlock brothers.
-
Being a DPS is one thing, if you actually did more damage than the other class. As it stands, a gun in your hands does the same damage in my hands. Hunters don't get some magical damage amplifying modifier.
-
You haven't seen a level 20 hunter yet though..... (spoiler)
-
Hunters will be fine.
-
I dunno man.. Then again, they aren't the heavy attack character. Or a healer. That's the two things people want to raid with in games. I feel the Hunter is more specialised at envirometally just runing around lol. By no means weak, just... Not the heavy attack.
-
As the hunter in my fireteam, i had the most kills, died the least, and I revived the most teammates. Consistently. Don't believe class determines how you play the game or how well you do.

Edited by SaferMurderweapon: 8/10/2014 8:16:40 AMAgain, comparing Destiny to WoW simply because there happens to be "raids" in the game. Note: The classes were designed for different play styles. They aren't in any way better than the other given that they are all being used effectively by a player who's a good match for it.
-
Sadly I see this happening. I'm a Warlock and for the record I don't care what class, build, or weapons you uses I'll still kill fallen beside you all.

Nobody's getting screwed especially if you join Grimguard clan
