I mean come on, it had tigers
A co op, high fantasy game with an open world (kinda) and the customization and class system that Destiny has now? That would have been so cool. But instead we got Bungielands: Call of Halo.
Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy Destiny and I'll be buying it, but the original concept was so much cooler
And it had groot

Bungie needs to make a spinoff that has these monsters and shit. Maybe a planet?

Edited by DemonRonin: 8/11/2014 1:33:07 PMThe original concept lacked originality. would have been dark and mature rated as say that conan mmorpg? or light like wow? Pets would have been there? And let me guess the fan of that genre would have wanted MORE social aspects as oppose to game play. A virtual face book. Bungie knows it strong points. So I'm glad they stuck to their...guns. HA.

I like the concept art, especially the artwork where you have three Humans outside a jumpship, in the snow with a Tiger. But then again, the reason it isn't in the game (or whatever we have seen of the game already, which isn't a lot) must have been a good one. Personally just saying I trust Bungie and their decisions based on what I've seen and played.

So you have Witcher 3 (I'm very excited for) Dragon Age Inquisition, D3 or RoS, another mid evil game that was at one time a pc exclusive but now it is being released on console, And ESO all coming out really close together this year into early next year. The phantasy RPG space could also be argued as being a little crowded. Plus the concept art probably still wouldn't make it into the game as the original concept was intended. People would still complain. And if not you then someone else would make a post about how unoriginal and uninspired their idea is. This is what they've made so hold on tight because this is going to be what they do for ten years. If you don't want to get on the ride then get off before the harness locks and enjoy the concept art of a game that you will never be satisfied with.

Look at the bottom right corner of the image, that's still Destiny! But what specifically in Destiny is the question?
-
Maybe that will be on Venus maybe a dlc will come out with all that stuff u never know
-
I feel like bungie should have worked on viva pinata i mean come on bungie you need to learn how to pick the winners instead of garbage like destiny
-
GIANT FROGS
-
Maybe I wanted Bungielands: Call of Halo? I'd actually venture that Destiny has a bit too much Tolkienesque fantasy in it's blood. The speech from basically everyone except the ghost sounds way overly medieval to the point of sounding sorta fake.
-
I must agree. Though Destiny is pretty damn good. I like that they trying to keep some of the fantasy element.
-
I don't see bungie being able to pull it off, maybe give the idea to another studio

Who's to say stuff like this wont show up in future Destiny games? Food for thought...
-
I don't think Bungie would be good at making something like that, though. Don't get me wrong: the concept art in the OP is gorgeous. I just fail to see how Bungie - a developer that has made shooters exclusively for the last decade and a half - would be able to pull off something like that. Would they try a TP fantasy game? Stick to FP? The former is generic and the latter is not fun (IMO). That's part of the reason I'm not into games like The Elder Scrolls, Dark Souls, Dragon Age, etc.
-
It would've been glorious
-
Bungielands: call of halo. AHAHAHHAHAHHAAH you're the man. Classic

Edited by N E S S I: 8/10/2014 3:44:06 AM(I realize this is a troll, but) Is this really early Destiny concept art? Damn they really went off the path if so. Tbh I'd rather play that toad game.
-
ITT: Desticles complaining.
-
That'd be a cool ride in the crucible, lol
-
Edited by DukeOfStuffing: 8/11/2014 1:09:03 AMYeah. Some of the concept ideas, even the ones closer to destiny, were a lot cooler. They should create a sister studio with the same toolboxes and level of talent, and try something like that. Literally, just build on that old concept they had going on. They could even rip things straight from #density like the classes and progression.
-
oh sht thats tight as fk and the the name a lil catchy
-
I'd argue there are both enough fantasy RPGs as there are FPSs Bungie went in the direction that they did and I expect to be amazed. Your attempt to incite will find no purchase here friend.
-
No, as a matter of fact -blam!- NO. Go away snuggles the carebear

And everyone just SHUT THE -blam!- UP ALL YOUR WINING IS PISSING ME OFF.

Dude, have you watched anything on destiny? This was their concept for a whole different game BEFORE they came up with destiny. They couldn't decide between doing a fantasy game and another sci fi shooter, so they combined the two ideas into destiny. Get your facts strait.
