Like the idea man but idk if Bungie will go for it cause they don't want any class to be a "healer" or "support" class. We all damage, we all take damage. That easy.

  • Which is why I also have it an offensive subclass. If they don't want there to be anyone with a purely supportive role then they are ignoring an entire group of players. I know the sunslinger has support abilities, but they Warlocks are mostly about damage, and there should, in all fairness, be a class mostly about support. Even if they just take this idea and use it as fodder to make something entirely different, I'd be overjoyed. Just having someone from bungie saying they like the idea but won't use it would still blow be away.

  • I agree with you that they need a supporting class I'm only saying Bungie has denounced standard group make ups from other games cause they don't want this to be like other games where everyone has a set roll. Titans subclass Defender picks up a lot of pure support abilities mainly for protecting the group and blocking damage. But I think that's as "supportive" as they want it to be.

I realize that's their goal, and it's an admirable one, but the fact of the matter is that so far we have a warrior/knight (titan), an archer/rogue (hunter), and a light mage/dark mage. You can't escape archetypes no matter how hard you try. Sure they are different from classes in other games, but it all boils down to the same thing, bungie has just made them unique, not 100% different from anything ever seen before, but it's an original take to be sure. At the end of the day, striker is about pure physical destruction, like a warrior, defender is about absorbing incoming damage, like a knight, gunslinger is about pure gun damage, which can be paralleled to a bow, void dancer is about invisibility and knife damage like a rogue, and the warlock wields light and dark magic essentially, with some sort of buffing ability and raw destructive force. Now these classes are represented in a way unseen before, but the archetypes are there as the skeletons that bungie built the guardians on top of, and the same will probably be said for any new classes added.
