DROP ISSUES

one of the things i noticed is that most the time an item dropped for me it was from another players kill. i even decided to experiment with this and would often just sit in the middle of a battle and allow other guardians to kill the beasts. in doing this i noticed that the creatures would still drop items for me even though i did nothing to contribute... how is a trade mechanic that requires near equal items to be offered for the trade to go threw rewarding players that do nothing more then this drop mechanic? if you dont want trade thats fine i can understand that. but dont use the "it rewards lazy players arguments" when there are other factors in place like exp share and this silly drop system, as well as the randomly giving items to players in the crucible.

  • Yeah, I don't get the random item drop in Crucible, makes it feel like I'm at the casino. I do very good... nothing, I do bad.. nothing, in between... nothing. Then bam, after several games something. Then I have clanmates that got back to back drops... so wth? As for PvE... I kinda get it, but hard to see the logic in a player getting a drop if they didn't even put one hit on an NPC. Could be based on proximity so that other players are just hogging all the "farming NPCs", but still as you say, could encourage laziness. *shrugs*

    • I noticed and when I'm in my fireteam I usually don't have the problem of loot drops, we know better then to grab some else loot if they are taking out a group of enemies. And we also just kinda play to have fun and wreak our enemies. But yea I would love to trade with my fireteam, because sometimes we get weapons that we don't need but the other would benefit from and vice versa.

      • I honestly don't have an issue with it. They're giving everyone who's in the area a change to earn items, if someone's been grinding an area and killing everything before you got there to put a bullet in the enemy you'd be a little upset. If the drops of items worked by whoever got the killing blow on enemy gets loot than it wouldn't be very fair considering anyone can swoop in and steal your kill. I think the way loot drops is fine. As for pvp, I believe the way loot drops is so everyone has a chance at getting something good, not everyone is a star player and everyone has those days where you just can't do good. I think that the top player should at least receive something for being star player. I like how everyone has an equal chance at getting loot.
