I love playing crucible. Sure some games I get my ass handed to me, but a fair amount of the time I find myself in the top 3 of the match. My kd ranges between 2.15-2.30 and I'm trying to push it higher as I like to look good in the crucible. Does this make me a bad person? I love PvP and PvE equally but to me I want my PvP stats to impress :)

Caring isn't bad, but bragging about it is.
-
As with any competitive player you want to have a good standing on their records, as do I. Just don't push it to a point where you're obsessive and a douche to other about having a higher K/D. Stay humble my fellow Guardian.
-
It depends kido
-
As others have mentioned, caring about it is fine. Being a dick about it isn't.
-
Caring about it is one thing, being a total douche bag about it is another. So to answer, no it doesn't make anyone a bad person. Just don't be a dick bag. :) I know my KD isn't the best as I'm still learning, but I do what I can to help the team.. Cap flags, defend, things like that. Don't always need epic gun skills to contribute.
-
Well. You can be a good teamplayer and make a good K/d.
-
Dude you should care about everything you have an interest in.
-
It doesn't make you bad. What makes you bad is when you start padding it by not helping your team. If you are winning or being a team player at least and still have a good KD then rock on. Winning (or having fun, whichever you're going for) is all that matters. I will take a bad KDR if it means I win every game.
-
Hey, as long as you care that's all that matters :)
-
Humble brag much; my K/D is probably barely over one, and that's just because I thrashed all the new players that got the beta when it went open
-
Nope, enjoy the game. Damage the haters
-
Everyone plays for different reasons! I use to care about my k/d in the glory days of COD 4 but soon realised i wasnt having any fun and instead was hating playing so i just try and not let k/d effect me now
-
As long as you are not attacking other players with lower/higher/same KDR's then it doesn't make you a bad person.
-
No it does not. Play the game and have fun, don't let other people tell you what you should care about
-
I often struggle to get over 1.0 (reflexes get slower when getting older...) so I'd often say that K/D isn't that important, with captures and a few kills I'm often in the Top 3. But a few hours ago I finished a game with a K/D of 7.33... if anyone had asked me then, I'd say that K/D is the most important thing in life... ^^
-
As long as you get captures and play the objective. If you don't play the objective, well.... Yes you're a bad person.
-
It only makes you a bad person if you discriminate others for not having a K/D or players who don't care about K/D. This is your personal choice. As long as you don't allow it to affect other players, all the best to you. However, if you do discriminate players for lower K/D. Just no man.
-
I just don't like when players only care about kills and never ptfo, that's a terrible team mate.
-
As long as you dont get cocky you are fine.
-
People fail to understand that it's not just about captures. You don't get points over time for control unless you own all 3,and even then it's not much at all. The control points act as a multiplier for kills. KDR is very important, it shows if you were helping your team toward the win, or just throwing points at the enemy team. Control two points and focus on kills from then on and you will be fine
-
Not at all. Striving for better performance and better K/D is an inherent part of what makes competitive games fun and good. Go nuts.
-
Edited by Crazypug: 7/27/2014 6:10:41 PMAs long as you don't brag about it. Most people don't care. Anyone in here can become pro but some don't have the time to practice. Some just try to have fun. But people are aloud to do whatever they want with their game.
-
it doesn't make you a bad person, it makes you a terrible player.
-
You know whats better than a high K/D ratio? A high Win/Loss ratio. Too bad for me my W/L ratio is 0.9 when my K/D ratio is 1.9
-
I only care about accuracy. But bungie destiny doesn't show that:(
-
I mean if you're always killing people on the flags and taking it, I don't see any problem with that. How often are you able to just walk up to a flag and take it without engaging anyone.
