Should Destiny have any sort of trading feature?

Trading between players would be awesome!

Only with merchants.

No way!

I feel this game is missing a huge part of any social game! Trade between players! There doesn't even seem to be an option to sell your unwanted weapons to merchants, only dismantle them (let's be honest, 32 glimmer for a rare hand cannon is a deliberate smack in the face), or store them. I really feel an auction house (Like the one in WoW, or FIFA/Madden Ultimate Team) should be implmented in the game. Sure I may not be a fan of pulse rifles, but that Legendary Pulse rifle may be just what someone else is looking for.

  • The only way it would work if it was based of of how rare an item is. For ex: exotic for exotic legendaey for legendary and so on otherwise its a stupid idea

  • No thanks. I don't want trading or even gifting items or weapons to friends especially not stuff that has light levels.

Sorry, but fk you all that are for Trading. Truth is that trading doesn't do anything aside from carebear to the carebears (they need to EARN their loot!). The only place a trading system has is with an economy, since there is no crafting then: No. Honestly, people would vote in favor for fking cheats to be enabled. I know, it sound like i'm raging. I'm just a jerk that is pretending to rage on you. Alright, serious now. Trading uncommons(greens) should be perfectly fine, maybe blues, but Legendary's and higher need to be earned. No way in hell should we put a AH in Destiny, look to Diablo 3. People just really need to earn their loot, people shouldn't be carried. If its to "difficult" then you need to get better rather then looking for hand-outs. You need to look at things as a challenge, if your not looking to be challenge then perhaps you need to find another game like Pokemon. Simply, trading would break this game. Since it seemed to run fine without any trading, then it would certainly break with trading. An AH would turn this game into glimmer farming ><

    • I like the idea of trading things for equal value. Exotic item= 1 Exotic/ 2 Legendaries/ 4 Rares/ 20k Glimmer Legendary Item= 1 Legendary/ 2 Rares/ 10k Glimmer Rare= 1 Rare/ 2 Uncommons/ 2k Glimmer 1 Uncommon= 1 Uncommon/ 2 Commons Whether the item is a weapon, armor, or material would not be a factor in determining the trade.

      • Trading cannot work because of how they did gear. If the gear were an addition to attributes rather than the main supplement for them, it would be okay. They made gear the method to grow in power. If they allowed you to exchange gear, you wouldn't need to work for it anymore. You wouldn't earn your power, you could simply buy it, or worse, have it given to you for free. It doesn't seem like it because they haven't found the perfect balance for gear being implemented.

I was totally surprised that trading wasn't in the game. Honestly since the game has so many different weapons and armor that you could possibly have...... I don't know what else to say..... It was something I thought was going to be there from the beginning.

        • I would like to remind all fellow MMORPG players to remember the spamming. The horrible, incessant spamming. With how easy it is to message other players you see in the world, I have no doubt that outside websites will be spamming our mailboxes with gear to trade for money. I believe this might have been the biggest motivation to restrict trading aside from the accomplishment of getting a hard earn weapon.

          • No, I feel like trading would just make players' gear less unique. Everyone would just try to trade for whatever weapon/armor is considered to be the best at the time. Plus, I really doubt Bungie's going to implement trading when they've specifically said they want each piece of good gear you get to be tied to a specific event (completing a strike/mission/whatever). I think trading wouldn't mesh with Destiny's style.

            • An easy way of implementing this trade feature would be to initiate part of the system Bungie already has implemented. Mailing items: Highlight the item in your vault. Select "Mail". Upon selecting "mail", a menu opens with your current Destiny Fire team. Select the fireteam member you wish to ship the item to, and that person can retrieve it at the post master. Trade option: Highlight the name of the person in your fireteam. Select "trade". Upon selecting trade, a window opens up with 5 slots. Highlight each slot and select it which opens your inventory. Repeat until items you've chosen are finished being selected. Upon finishing, highlight an option at the bottom of the trade window titled "Print Trade Receipt". The items being traded are then removed from your inventory, and the servers auto save the items in a "trade zone". Your inventory now contains a receipt with a list of the items you and that person agreed to trade. Highlight that receipt, and select "Claim Items". The items you traded for now appear in your inventory, after the receipt was claimed. This process negates "pulling plugs" and "dash boarding" during a trade process due to the fact the items don't go from one player to another. The items go into an area that stores their data to be retrieved. So as players can't attempt to duplicate items. I'm also fine with no trade system whatsoever. But if Bungie implements it, remove the player to player option and use the server as a go between. It denies duplication if the players save file is inaccessible. It's up to Bungie to work out the kinks. ;o)

                • I looked at some of the legendary upgrades and you're probably going to need to dismantle most of your unused weapons and gear for parts to upgrade your better shit. Not to mention the glimmer which is hella scarce.

                  • It's because loot in the game is meant for your character specifically and is supposed to be "meaningful"...that's what i heard -.-

                  • THIS GAME NEEDS UNRESTRICTED TRADING! I cannot stress this enough. One of this games core features is collecting rare loot! But part of the fun of getting rare loot in a social game is being able to show it off to other people!

                  • This is NOT an mmo it is a shared world shooter where you have to earn your gear not have it given to you. This is the stupidest idea and would ruin the game. If you don't want to put in the time and effort to get the good gear you don't deserve it. If I'm walking in the tower and see a hunter with a sweet cape I want to know how he got it, so I can go and get it. If his answer could be "I traded for it," it takes away from the coolness of getting anything. So absolutely no trade system of any kind.

                      • And then we would get hacked like in most mmos no thank you. Is prefer a betting system for multiplayer. That would cover it I think.

                      • I don't think people should be able to sell player to player. I've been in a lot of Mmorpg betas and by the time the game comes out prices are outrageous for items. Plus after the games been out then everyone is rich so it defeats the purpose of scavenging

                      • Player trading and that kind of economy leads to "gold sellers", in game spam, and an epidemic of hacked accounts. In my mind the negatives far outweigh the positives.
