Why bungie why
Me and my friend got really excited after receiving a code for the beta. BUT it isn't all sunshine and flowers, Being the poor peasants we are, we could not afford xbox live gold. So now we're sitting, trying to connect, weeping.

Unfortunately, you can't play the Beta on the 360 or Xbone without XBL. That is not actually Bungie's doing, nor their fault. That is a specific limitation imposed by Xbox themselves. There is no way around it either. You either have to buy XBL, get a pass (which usually comes with games anyway) or you can't access it. Sorry, but that is just how this situation went down. I'm in a similar boat, if that's any consolation. I don't have XBL anymore, so I can't play the Beta either. I don't know if that makes you feel any better....but at least I tried.
