I think the game will be perfectly fine without trading.
The whole reason Bungie originally omitted from including trading (apart from wanting to prevent in-game economy issues) was so that if you see a player with a sweet piece of gear you know that THEY f*cking earned it.
It's nice to know that whenever I see a player with a Legendary class item earned from Iron Banner I know that person freaking worked their butt off for it rather than having their buddy give it to them.
Same thing applies with end game stuff too. When someone sees me with an awesome Legendary gun I want them to know that I grinded a boss to get it, or that I grinded my reputation up in order to buy it from a vendor, and not that I traded it for something from someone else.

Actually iron banner loot is completely random in terms of who is rewarded and with what,
-
And so are some drops - but others aren't. My point still stands tbh.
-
Not saying they aren't still special, it just didn't necessarily take much work or skill to achieve them.
-
This is a great reason against trading. I would much rather earn my weapons, it makes everything so much more valuable
-
Lol so because you would rather earn your own stuff, that means nobody should be allowed to trade? Haha wtf is with ppl in this forum taking away others options. This shit is insane. I hope you ppl aren't voting adults.

Didn't mean to upset you, just was voicing that it was a good point. Bungie does want to include the "envy" factor, and if you could trade anything it goes against that idea. I just happen to be a voting adult, and if there is one thing I've learned about decisions is that more people are happy when both sides win. So, a compromise: I think we could keep the "earn" factor and still have trading if all trades required equal level and rarity on both sides. That way if your friend has a legendary scout rifle you want, you need to earn a legendary of your own and it would make it so you've earned the right to trade as well. Would also fix the problem of player A getting a weapon that teammate player B wants (a weapon that player A would never use), when Player B also got a weapon that they don't want, but which player A would have rather picked up. If you like that idea, spread it around. I think both sides have good ideas and we can learn from them.

I'm not upset. I was actually at the laughing at the absurdity of your post, because I thought you were saying, "everyone should have to earn gear, because I like to earn my own gear". That's why I asked that question. But apparently I was wrong, because you do actually want a compromise. It seems to me many don't and are hell bent on not having one. I doubt there will be trading, but if there is a chance, I agree with what you have proposed. At least it gives people who want to trade the ability to do so.

Ahaha, the wonders of internet speak, you lose all inflection. It'll be interesting to see where this goes, there is so much suggestion/feedback happening on the game, and with only two months there is hardly anything they can do.
-
Some of my same thoughts actually. I specifically want much more depth with the exploration mode, then what I currently see. No telling how it will be at release, or what Bungie has in mind with changing things given from the feedback. But I doubt we will see much more depth in the PvE, similar to that of Skyrim or FallOut etc. That is what I would like, but hopefully the depth will increase in Destiny 2.
-
They're also holding a lot back in terms of loot collection, missions, character growth, etc. I'm guessing the game will feel more "full" when everything is actually released.

Edited by IamPluto: 7/25/2014 1:23:12 AMThat's what I hope. But I don't really get that feeling from the beta. Edit : Well I know they are holding things back but I don't get the feeling that the game will be more RPG like the likes of skyrim and fallout. I hate refering to other games in a vague way, but for some reason I can't really put my finger on the open world in Destiny. The open world just doesn't feel like those other RPGs. Which is cool because it doesn't feel like a clone, but i feel like its missing something. Maybe NPCs? That might be it. NPCs just living their lives trying to get through these dark times. But then this is just the beta, so who knows if the full game has that or not.

Yeah, we'll just have to see
