let's be honest here, the auto rifle is OP
My friends and I all agree that the auto rifle is OP in pvp. It's simply way stronger then any of the other primaries right now. I believe this is partly because the maps are catered to short range engagements. I saw a noticeable improvement in my scores in the crucible when I switched from my trusty, fully upgraded, pulse rifle to a crappy auto rifle I had never used before. In my opinion the game would greatly benefit from the auto rifle receiving a slight nerf, maybe so that it has more recoil? Making the auto rifle more difficult to use would help the other weapons compete in multiplayer.

I play with the scout rifle. In crucible I get in the top 2 scores with high frequency. I disagree with your claim that auto rifles are op. Also, I can't use an auto rifle for poop. Just find a weapon with a play style that you enjoy / works for you.

I hope they increase the recoil on them. If you want a gun that kills that fast, it has to be difficult to use.

I agree, while playing for the first time yesterday I managed to score some not terrible scores but in later matches on the moon I was totally destroyed by a mass of people useing the auto rifle, I myself use the hand cannons, and I get my ass kicked!

I did four crucible rounds, I used the pistol I was given after the tutorial, I absolutely dominated everyone, including the Auto Rifle users. I think all the weapons are fairly balanced in their own way, but Auto Rifle is easier to use, however, if one is good with a harder to use weapon then those can be just as if not more effective.

Why is everyone here committing the fallacy of personal incredulity? Not that I disagree with your claim, but just because you did well or poor with or against an auto rifle doesn't prove your point. If you ask me, the AR needs a recoil nerf. Add some recoil to that thing please. The fusion rifle could use a charge buff ( very slight one ) and/or a damage buff. It's only a one shot kill at close range where every bit of the beam hits the enemy. Otherwise, they shoot you to death while you charge the next beam.

3 RepliesWell of course you did better after switching to auto rifles. Pulse rifles are terrible in the beta. Auto rifles are good but they aren't OP. They don't actually do much damage. If you aren't aiming for the head it can take nearly an entire clip to get a kill sometimes. Admittedly this isn't that hard but that doesn't make it OP. Lots of weapons are good at getting head shots. They simply need to make the pulse rifles better.

I'd just like to throw this out there. what the hell is the point in the Handgun, it is the most underwhelming gun in the game by far. It only has like 5-6 rounds in each mag, yet it does very little damage! it's like there's no perk to the weapon. Why'd they even add it to the game if its so weak?

You can three shot people with a scout rifle. A weapons real effectiveness all comes down to landing consistent criticals

2 RepliesJust played my first ever game of Crucible. I was the only one using anything other than an Auto Rifle. Automatic weapons should NEVER beat precision weapons. Come on, Bungie. The AR in Halo was always awful. And with good reason.

1 ReplyI completely agree. It's so frustrating, from going from PvE, it one of the best weapons you can use, but as soon as it's PvP, I get Ok games, but most of the time I get destroyed. Same with the Fusion Rifles, I don't think I have a single kill with one in PvP.

Its not op I use a scout rifle and there is no need for the fusion to be nerfed. If you use a fusion or scout you cant go expecting to run around like a chicken with its head cut off and kill everybody you gotta make sure your at a considerable distance and have decent aim the fusion and scout rifle give up fire rate for damage and range. Also consider that this is a beta so you cant fully judge the weapons as they stand. Nerfs and buffs are something that should be fixed in later updates as you can fully know what weapons are superior.

Yeah i feel like the other weapons are underpowered by comparison. Which I would rather up the damage on all the other weapons than nerf the auto rifle.

Just make the Pulse Rifle usable. Why is the stability so low and the fire rate super low. Even the Scout Rifle has a higher fire rate.

6 RepliesHow about we wait till we get higher then tier 8 weapons and better weapon upgrades on our weapons before we start talking about nerfs and buffs. The only thing that may have a legitimate complaint right now is the recoil on pulse rifles but my guess is Bungie had no choice since jerkoffs with modded controllers would abuse the crap out of it if they didn't.
