Points based on Kills are misleading

I have to say, I really enjoy the way in which Battlefield handles distribution of points. You got points for the amount of damage delt to a target you assisted on. Not just a flat 50pts for doing 99% percent of the damage... which happens often in this game in my case. As well, I can run in at the last second to help secure a capture pit and get full credit for the capture. Which is ridiculous. Points should be awarded for the amount of work you did, not just for being in the right place or placing the right shot at the right time. Everything else seems fine to me, its just that objectively, the plays have no real motivation to get to the point with their team. They know it it really inconsequential. Or at least that is how I feel. Making it so that your work actually matters would make me feel like I am actually contributing. Though I love ALWAYS having the most assists on the team, the "unsung hero" medal is not enough for me to feel appreciated.
