I completely understand you, but the reason we don't get these options is because video games don't necessarily have you a 'race' option, just skin color. In Destiny's case it looked like Bungie attempted to even out the level of customization between three races: Human, Exo, and Awoken, one of which we are all too familiar with. It all remains to be seen if/how they expand their character customization.
