I've seen quite a couple of posts about how one or two bad players in a PvP team can spoil it for everyone. I want to clear the air and admit - I am that terrible player. Look at my stats, no lies. I am sorry. If you see me in your team - despair!

Buddy, don't beat yourself up over this. You gotta remember, you're in it with the rest of us. If you can, communicate with your teammates, let em know you need help. The Guardians will always help another Guardian (unless that Guardian is douche, in which case, f**k em). Just don't be a sore loser about it and rage quit. Every match is a learning process, sometimes you're better others, sometimes you get your @$$ handed to you. :-)

1 ReplyI'm not good at PvP either, the only one I enjoy and play well it's Assassin's Creed, for the obvious reason that being not fast paced suits my play style. Despite being bad at PvP in FPS, I tried a match on the moon map, I just managed to get one kill because I hopped into the vehicle. I never see where enemy players are and I got shot before I could even figure out their positions. :(

Aha! I have found my people! :) I am consistently the worst in terms of kills on my teams (sorry to all of my teammates!) I just try to make up for it by capturing all the control points I can. I still feel bad though because I die so much. I hope to get better....but it's looking quite tragic at the moment. I am loving Destiny so I will embrace my role as the team bullet sponge. If they are shooting at me, it means they aren't shooting at the other members of my team...so I have that going for me.

well you say you suck but it's the beta, pretty sure when it comes live you'll get better and then smile when you see posts like this. and on the actual serious note, this kind of playstyle is completly new to playstationers, people who have played halo pvp would be bale to pick up destiny and feel no different it's the same kinda jumpy round fire like crazy crap which is addictive. they have had years of practice. playstation only owners will take a tiny bit more time. but who really cares if you suck or not as long as your having fun (( i haven;t got the best k/d ratio but i am slowly improving - it's all about map knowledge, knowing where the enemys may be sitting while protecting the base or taking it over, and saving that super for taking over a base and killing like the whole other team with one shot ))

Crap! I know that I suck but I was hoping to look at your stats and feel better about myself. I'm worse by a decent margin on over 20+ games played (you've only played 3 Crucible matches). Oh well, I don't care, I'm an old guy who's just trying to have fun. We will get better. As thehamsterboom said, it's way different than any other game that I've played (Battlefield really being the only other one that I've played since starting this mid-life crisis). Enjoy!

As a primary (99%) PC gamer, playing with a controller is taking some getting used to so while i'm not terrible i'm not very good atm either but meh i still have fun :P

2 RepliesI'm with you lol In the Alpha I was amazing. I just cant compete with those assault rifles at the moment. Then again, thats me refusing to leave my scout rifle, jump in the bandwagon and use assaults. Assault rifle may have been buffed a bit, but thats my opinion. But rest reassure, whatever the case maybe, we will overcome :) Hmm, now that I think about it, is it me or the strafing is a tad bit slower compared to the Alpha?

No problem. You're still doing better than a guy yesterday, who told me " I always git top 3 wit pulse rifle" and had a KDR of .38. How do you even get that bad.

1 ReplyI tried to play my first few matches with my favorite weapon, hand cannon, now I'm terrified to let go of my scout rifle. T_T WHY IS THE ONLY UNCOMMON HAND CANNON I HAVE LEVEL 9, WHAT THE HELL! And don't get me started on the cape and chest armor....

19 RepliesThere is a difference between someone bad in PVP and someone not skilled in PVP. A "Bad" PVP person is the a-hole that runs from the objective before it's captures, leaves a teammate to fend for himself in a firefight, is there to do nothing but stroke his K/D, aka the lone wolf type. I don't care if you are 1 and 30 on my team as long as you are playing with the team and legitimately trying. It's a team game and people should work as a team. Teams overcome a single persons skill level.

the problem isn't you, the problem is the game. Don't hate the player hate the game. You want those legendary items ? Only way to earn them in the BETA is by doing that terrible PvP. I didn't even try to win or get kills and stuff, I didn't had the best weapon "competitive pvp"... right And I hope that the real game you can earn the same items by doing PvP or PvE. You are god like in PvE you should be able to buy the same cool items like a Pro PvP player.

Haha, I started horribly, 0.10 K/D ratio and eventually worked my way to like 3.80. Assault Rifles are the way to go! I think I'll dominate on Xbox, since very few player have actually played. Watch out Xbox brothers, here I come!!

1 ReplyAs a Hunter i feel like im the worse player, due to gadgets i guess, the grenades, ( both incendary and the tracker) are hit or miss for me, even when i hit a player with the tracker and they all hit, they somehow still have a full red bar, maybe titans and warlocks have a upper hand with PvP , with super charges also, i know one has a groud pound which can hit anyone nearby, but hunter has the golden gun (007 anyone) and you have 3 shots, which is also risky since it has no AOE

1 ReplyI really don't care. As long as a player is actually playing. As long as you can tell they are trying and giving their effort, I'm not too concerned. It's a game, regardless how serious some may take it, it's just a game.

Anyway, I am not a very good skilled at the twitch pvp type games, but I always go for the team objective and try to win every single time. However, for some reason, I am always in the freagin' losing team, so I am starting to think I am the reason my team always loses although I try to do all the point capping possible. I do have a theory though, and that it is that this game type is kind of broken. There is hardly ever a comeback chance. Once a team takes the lead, you'll hardly see that change and the losing team can do little to change the outcome. There needs to be another factor to be considered for these Control maps. Take the warzones in killzone for instance. There are several rounds and game types in each map, so that even if you are smashed in say.. Deathmatch or Control, you always have a change to turn the game around in the next rounds. I've not found this to be the case in Destiny, and although I like PvP, the Control game type in this game is not very fun in my opinion.
