I've seen quite a couple of posts about how one or two bad players in a PvP team can spoil it for everyone. I want to clear the air and admit - I am that terrible player. Look at my stats, no lies. I am sorry. If you see me in your team - despair!

I've seen worse

Man listen, I suck at it too!! Check my stats, but the feeling I got when I was getting my ass handed to me and then I was able to drop a nova bomb on 5 guys made me feel so much better!!

hahaha my brother had to babysit his young nephew during an afternoon of the beta. He was shuddering watching his gamertag play like a 9 yr old. I guess, like titles before it, competitive vs casual will be a thing. Also clans and fireteams seem to be a priority. I noticed that just playing on a 3 man Fireteam made a huge difference in having at least a couple players whose skills and intention I could trust, and communication can help less experienced players do well.
-
I'm also rubbish at PvP!!! There really needs to be a way to separate people depending on there skill in the crucible, I'd love to play more PvP but with people more at my level, where it's just done for a bit of fun, and then the better players who take it more seriously can go and have more competitive matches without me having to feel like I just ruined the match for them. I think in Destiny a system like this will be even more important than in say COD or Battlefield, as the more casual gamers will most likely want to play a lot more PvP due to the fact there is loot that can only be obtained by playing in the crucible or events like the Iron Banner

Its cool man, I been a pc player for alot of years and as soon as I started on console with few friends I couldnt get over how horrible my aiming was. But its all good fun, I usually ended up being the bait to draw out/give away camper positions xD

Edited by xXNetCodeXx: 7/21/2014 11:27:36 PMThere are key things to help improve your pvp game. I call them the fundamentals 1) Teamwork, without it you will lose nobody has ever one a match playing solo unless its 1v1.. 2) Communication, without it you can't effectively work with your teammates to win. 3) Situational Awareness/Map Awareness, hard to communicate with your team if you don't know what's going on around you. 4) Know yourself, knowing who you are and what type if player you are makes it so you can better play to your strengths.

Haven't done much pvp but so far it's been hit or miss, 2/3 of the games I'm a total doormat and 1/3 I'm top payer with a 5+ kill streak. Not sure if it's the matchmaking system (if there is one) that doesn't know where I belong or if it's just a bunch of premades or it's the time of day or w/e.

It's the kids who don't understand how to use map control. If you have 2 positions, don't go for the third one, especially if it's A. Control B and C while leaving A alone and you'll control the map.

I was awful at first as well until I got this good scout rifle it was a common gun but I instantly did a lot better and almost always went positive. Just got to find your gun!

Edited by crazyinsanity82: 7/22/2014 9:41:16 PMI dominate at PvE, and have been getting my ass kicked in PvP. That's not to say I'm not getting better though, and I'm not completely useless since I have been getting several more captures than others do. I haven't gotten into a FPS multiplayer in a long time, but Destiny is the one that's got me hooked and back on the bus. I look forward to gaming with you all, and please excuse my rustiness in PvP. I also look forward to kicking some ass in the near future :) Also, looking for some fellow Guardians to suit-up with, PvP or PvE. Feel free to add me on PS4. PSN same as Bungie. Edit: I have never personally had anyone send me hate messages because of a PvP match, but I'm seeing others have... I find it distasteful and unnecessary. I could see if someone rage quits or just sits in a corner getting killed, but for someone who is trying continuously... come on... people cant get better if they don't play, and ridiculing them for sucking is going to make them not want to play. We are all here to have fun, good and bad players alike. Don't ruin it by being a douche.

Just keep trying and get better weapons. I sucked hard when I first started too, then got a better weapon and do much better. It is really hard to do well with one or two bad teammates though. You can't really carry a team in here like you can in say COD. It's actually better to have a full team of average, instead of two great and two terrible players.
-
I suck a little, but it's still fun playing :D
-
Practice getting headshots in PvE, learn how to use your motion tracker. Congratulations, you are now good.

Bullet sponges unite!
-
Screw that man.... Just have fun! That's what this is about
-
Smoke some pcp then it will all come to you
-
There appears to be a learning curve for some for this game. Just play and have fun, and don't take shit from those other competitive types.
-
I'm not the best player, or the worst. I put in my best effort and I have fun. At the moment my K/d is atrocious :s I swear it's not that bad !!
-
Just try. That's all I ask. Stupidity for the sake of stupidity is infuriating. I have zero patience for intolerably stupid people.

Theirs no need to apologize if you don't like something change it if you cant change it change your attitude. If your going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude. As long as you're not purposely trying to sabotage your team by doing bad I don't see a reason for anyone to complain. My friend was being retarded and destroyed all his gun but his pistol, but we still managed to win with me and one other guy doing good. Just try your best to contribute what you can to your team. One or two players can spoil it for everyone or one or two players can make it better for everyone. Personally I love the challenge. ; )
-
It would seem apparent they you are not alone, I always seemed to get lumped with a whole team of them. lol
-
You know what, you are going to be paying for the game just like everyone else. Worry about having fun, don't worry about what strangers in a lobby think. If it bothers the super elite's that much they can just form a full team and play together, you should never apologize for something like this. There are far too many running around already who care about k/d ratio, stick to playing in a team with other people who don't mind if your not as good, what is important is that you try, if you have the heart to learn you will get better. ^_^

kd is useless. those who brag and say they are good usually suck.
-
just play to win normally works out
-
As long as you have a good time OP. I think I will suck at this game for a while but I'll love every second.
-
despair!
