Community has spoken on arm bands
I've noticed that the community is coming together in a sense, and they have spoken, The warlock arm bands are simply lack luster, and seem like they were and after thought while the other 2 classes' received flashy pieces of class armor that makes them stand out that much more. I'm aware that there are legendary bonds around level 20 that have holograms on them, but even those seem somewhat boring next to the other class gear that I've seen at legendary levels. Most of the arm bands that were in the better had little to no variation and many people have spoke out and even switched classes for this reason. I've left a poll that includes some ideas that have been thrown around for a possible change. Personally I feel that extending the arm band to a full sleeve would be a nice fix, others think that we should get a shoulder piece or a hood, and even others have brought up the idea of being able to change the color of your abilities like your grenade, melee, and nova bomb.

I think headbands might be an incredible alternative to the armbands. It would be more of an outstanding feature compared to being on the arm.

It seems to me that if all classes got some sort of cape we could keep arm bands, and give Titans huge shoulders since they represent warriors...

As a hunter myself I can definitely see where this is coming from. The cosmetic pieces of the Hunter and Titan are a definite stand out. And I almost feel sorry for Warlocks, because you can't see their "street cred". Why should Warlock gear not be as standout-ish as other classes, the gear says I went through so much sh*t to get this, so everybody should be able to see it and lay down some respect. The coolest piece of gear that I can think of in an instant is a full sleeve piece made of a mass effect-esque hologram with moving parts and everything, with option to change the color to the player's liking :)

1 ReplyI wanna see something like the mutilated arms from soul sacrifice. There are some pretty kick@$$ designs for mutant arms in that game. I think having the armbands take on a growing onto arm design would be pretty sweet.

I would love to see the higher end arm bands have a bigger Hologram , something that may take up the whole sleeve, not necessarily out from the arm, but down the arm.

Something tells me the reason bonds exist in the first place is because coats had to fill the role of chest armor. Really, it's Warlocks who have the most eye-catching apparel, it's just not purely cosmetic, so we get a second accessory to fill the cosmetic role.

1 ReplyI agreed, at first. Then i checked out the speaker's arm bands. Some of them have little holographic icons and such that emit from the band. There's huge potential there, can't expect low level bands to look good.

Okay, I had a thought. Honestly I'm not sure that I dislike the armband and I think DeeJ makes a great point about it being more dignified. However it is definitely the robes that declare a Warlock visually. What if the chest armor where a sort of under layer piece with the cloak sitting above it. This could open up some interesting possibilities while remaining decidedly different from the over classes' class items. First, the color and texture contrasts could provide interesting and VERY personalized looks for differing Warlock personalities. Second, the robes could have multiple states. Maybe a common robe would be closed at the front a basic in design, but later on a rare robe may be un-clasped and flowing at the warlock's sides. Perhaps a certain legendary robe (or robe type) would even hang on the warlocks shoulders with unused sleeves flowing in the wind. Again, this would make them appeal to me slightly more, but I'm a graphic designer by trade and like the large "canvas" for what DeeJ justly refers to as "bling."

I like the warlock robes as is and the trenchcoats later on look awesome. Stop trying to change them! This forum is for the armbands which really need to be rethought.

I think the warlock class item should be as it is but put a hanging cloth from the band like Etzio in Assassins Creed 2 that would be something you notice and not have to tell you friends like hey I have a new band do you see it and they are always like nope... And also the hanging cloth could be different shapes lenghts and could even display the icon that the hologram bands do now.

I think head/helmet accessories would be cool. Like feathers or trophies from dead enemies!

I think glove on one hand would be nice. Especially on this one with "power" which Warlock holds in character's equipment menu.

I get that the hunters are the ones who have a cloak but I think the warlock would look quite official with a shoulder cape (similar to the one Ezio from Assassins Creed wears). That's not too flashy but it still stands out more than the armband.

If anything warlocks should have a gauntlet to protect their hand from the void

I personally favor the idea of a gauntlet because that seems to be the vessel for your power.

I like the idea of either a pauldron or pauldron cloak. Something that goes on the shoulder but doesn't limit movement.
