The community on this forum is not what I was expecting.
There is so much entitlement among the users here that I feel bad for bungie. Combine that with the constant pissing contest between xbox and playstation and it's really bringing this community down.
Call it beta, call it a demo, call it early access sneek peek.. I don't care what you call it but I have put around 10 hours into this beta so far (just my warlock) and I was able to get some buddies in as well. All for free really, the 5 for my pre order goes towards my final purchase so I don't see what people are bitching about as far as content goes. There is more than enough content here to let you know if this is the game for you.
The only major critiques I do have though are lack of penalization for leaving games early, the damage indicator could use some work and joining/leaving fire teams needs some streamlining. Something I'm interested in as well is whether or not these pvp matches are hosted on dedicated servers or peer hosted. I've noticed some matches I feel like a god with my shotty and just can't be stopped. Then other times there is significant delay between my shot and my kill.
All in all I think bungie did a great job in letting us try a new game that is kinda hard to explain and really needed some hands on experience to understand what bungie was bringing to the table.
TLDR: how about a thank you to bungie for an amazing peak at what we will be able to experience come fall. Instead of bitching bc you ONLY got 10 hours for simply putting a fully refundable 5 dollars to support devs who are looking to break the standard fps mold.
PS: I'd love to start to see some constructive posts. Not "omg bungie this is not enough".

I have no issues with the beta at all. The level cap is lower than I had expected BUT it allows me to fully explore each of the classes to inform my opinion of what I'll eventually be when the game comes round on Sept 9 in the time the beta runs for. Right now I'm really enjoying the warlock and the crucible stuff is absolutely fantastic. The two maps are super fun despite the many, many times I've played them both and even though I missed the Iron Banner last night I'm looking forward to it again tonight with the additional two maps! Thanks bungie for making an FPS that is utterly enjoyable and makes me want to keep coming back. Not many other games of the FPS genre (which, before Destiny, I was a self-confessed skeptic of) have entertained me nearly half as much!

fair play there.....i'm on xbox 1 and i dont care for fanboys.....whichever console works for you than fair play....as long as your having fun with it.....if you become a fanboy you may as well put the controller down as your not a real gamer.....real gamers like me dont really care which platform your on as like me they are too busy having fun.....as for people moaning about the beta...a couple of things......its only a tiny slice of the game........your basically there to test out aspects of the game for bungie so they can work out stuff for the actual release so get it in your noggin its not a demo.....and the other thing is......its free.....so stop whinging and just enjoy....and if its not for you...fair enough....go play something else....its that simple. :-)

A BETA serves as a massive marketing tool as well as its functional use to the developer. They get more out of it than you do

That some claim they are canceling pre-orders are those that will probably punch your face on the line at the midnight launch of Destiny. Secondly, infinite gratitude towards Bungie is the toxic opposite of being filled with entitlement. Bungie is a great developer, but doesn't deserve any gratitude for letting me play the Beta version. If they read my feedback and are nice enough to consider it then I am happy, and as well as they are as they help shape the game into something they and I love together. Otherwise, for me it's just a waste of time and interest, and for them only more troublesome work. Of course, I am not in Bellevue, but I just want to think that Bungie puts some effort into it when it runs a public Beta, and I respect Bungie for that.

Other forums "fix" this by creating separate Xbox / PlayStation forums. Second, I hate the idea of penalizing players for leaving early. Sure, it sucks, especially in missions like The Devil's Layer where you only have 3 people. If someone has a habit of doing it, block them, otherwise most time you won't see them again. Maybe they had family issues, maybe some kind of emergency came up, or they are on a team where everyone is sniping instead of going after the objectives. Its video games. If it was Crucible matches in a tournament that had real prize money and someone rage quits, then I could understand.

I'll second this, the amount of posts from entitled children is out of control. The idea that Bungie has some personal vendetta against anyone is ludicrous, they are a game company, they make a game someone releases it, markets it and makes deals with the platforms for exclusives or timed content. I"m sure at no time did Bungie say "Ya F those guys on that platform, we'll show them!"

I don`t care about platforms, WE all are GUARDIANS if we play the game. This is a BETA, people were expecting a fully unlocked game!? Wait for September. And of couse the purpose of a BETA is mainly to stress test the servers, because this game is ready.

Wish Bungie would implement a junior member system that wouldn't allow you to make threads until you'd been signed up for a certain amount of time, or reached a certain amount of posts. It would clean up a lot of the nonsense. But it doesn't really sound like something they'd do. But don't let #Destiny represent the community for you. There's a reason its ridiculed by the rest of the site. Its full of new people. The community for this game is still being built and growing.

If you guys all really want to combat this attitude on the forums, the best way to do it, is to start threads with stimulating topics about the game, topics that start constructive conversations. The fact is, that the 'entitled' will always out number us because they are louder and voice their discontent more. The children will never bend the knee to this sort of rationale, so we need to start more creative conversations and maintain them. I remember way back before there was even an inkling about a beta, when we had tons of great topics of speculation on the game, but as time passed many of those threads died out and thats when the fire nation attacked.

And now I am commenting on your post that talks about losers who I really dont care about. ugh Just ignore the haters who dont provide any constructive criticism and who will be gone 2 months after the game releases anyway.

How much do you think Sony paid to have exclusive content? And how much of the money went towards the pay for staff who made the game what it is (Amazing) People are pissed at exclusive content but it won't change anything, Bungie may dislike the fact that people are upset at them, but they would be EVEN MORE upset if they couldn't deliver the game they wanted. After Halo, perhaps the most important shooters on console, of all time, they had big boots to fill and without Microsoft backing them. So yeah, the exclusive content may make you act like a immature child and not buy the game and good riddance. If you want that to stop you enjoying this masterpiece, then so be it but you not be missed, you won't be mourned and you most certainly be depriving you of a masterpiece of gaming because of the personal belief that a company is personally out to spite you. So kudos to the OP, we shal enjoy this community with those who share a similar mind. We'll defend the galaxy together, push back the darkness together and become legend with true guardians. Not some butt hurt fanboys :D

And you might tell me Bungie has always been a business, you are probably a PS fanboy then. Cause when Bungie was making Halo they did a lot for their community and actually cared.
