Looking ahead: Something is falling towards you

Today (for most of us around the world at this point) is Bungie Day. While this isn't likely an instantaneous turning point for Bungie and the Seventh Column, we will very soon see massive changes take place in the community with all the new forum updates and the likely opening of the BETA sign-up today. The close, intimate relationship we've had with Bungie and each other over the last few years has undoubtably become less private. My point is- it will be quite some time before we are again mulling through a quieted forest, gathered, encircling a campfire. We're making room in the community for newcomers and over the next ten years we will be forced to shared our beloved corporation with others from distant lands. This is something that should indeed warm the cockles. A LOT has happened, and a lot has changed. We've seen so many new and wondrous things. We've seen Grizzled Ancients unchained and turned loose to freely wreak creative havoc. The past is not entirely gone from this moment even though it may already feel that way in some respects. There are many things that have made the future now look very different, not all of which have been negative. We turn towards a bright future, not without our longings and memories, past hopes and new dreams. With all of this tucked close in out breast pocket, we nonetheless take a step towards something massive. So before this momentous change occurs and sends us hurling through into the wild new frontier. I was hoping maybe we could take a little time to feel nostalgic about what was once a slightly smaller community, anxiously waiting for some slightly different, slightly bigger news. And in light of all the recent hullabaloo, perhaps it's in good keeping that we thank our Community Manager, Deej, and take a little time to consider the work he's put in and time with us he's spent. He's been humoring us for quite some time now and things likely won't be quite the same for a long time. Before it's all gone... Take one last look around and breathe it in. It won't last long. Feel free not to comment (unless it's hateful :)
