I've always wanted to write a science fiction novel. I have the background, the plot, the characters everything; but between college work, seeing a psychologist and sheer lack of willpower I haven't even started. I wanted to write it in a way that was philosophical regarding a wide range of social issues from politics and economics to age and mental disorders within an engaging and interesting plot.

  • Start writing down notes (preferably in a notebook) and make sure you always have access to whatever you use to store your notes. Then it's simply a matter of writing down whatever comes to mind the second you think of it. Hopefully that'll give you more motivation to write it all, once you look over your notes and see it coming to life - but at the very least it's a starting point and you can claim you've done something.
