Felt that this should be reposted as it's own reply instead of it sitting around in a subthread.

6 RepliesMorrowind... it hasn't aged well. The graphics are difficult to deal with, the lack of speech, I've been spoiled by at least vague quest markers so their absence is frustrating to say the least... it's just too difficult for me to get into these days.

I found Fallout 3 to be more immersive than TES. Oblivion more so than Skyrim though.

1 ReplyMorrowind is one of those games that I can't play for longer than an hour. No matter how hard I try, I just can't bring myself to like the game. The gameplay has aged horribly. In particular, the dice roll-based combat system is frustrating, to say the least.

The combat was mediocre, everything else was basically perfect.

Morrowind [b]was[/b] great for it's time and will always hold a little special nostalgia pocket in my heart. A place where little twelve year old Flipfox spends hours of every summer's night exploring an alien world with little to no direction and enough curiosity to drown a dozen cats.

It makes me sad that Oblivion was my first ES. I ever got to experience Morrowind. I mean, I could go back and play it, but I've tried that. I spent 10 hours on the PC version but couldn't do it.

I'm willing to agree, however I think people exaggerate it's greatness. Though it is a wonderful game and it is very immersive, it also has many faults that I think people overlook. I do agree though it is up there as one of the best games made.
