In the end they were both a downgrade from Halo 3 so whichever one is 'better' of the two it's still speck of dust compared to Halo's former self.

  • If you are comparing Halo 3 to Reach or Halo 4 it's like comparing a dog shit with a bird shit.

  • Halo 3 is way better than Reach and Halo 4 combined.

  • Reach and Halo 4 have many problems, Halo 3 just kinda manages to overshadow those flaws with that slowness, immense lag and generally was boring to play. I've even had many laughs in Halo 4 and even in Reach I don't recall ever having in Halo 3 - and it's also the only Halo game I haven't played for over a year.

  • I play Halo 3, Reach, and halo 4 on weekends from tiem to time and my friends and I all enjoy Halo 3 the most. What reach and halo 4 lacks with Skill and rewarding players for truly being good Halo 3 does it perfect. Doesn't mean I don't win 80%+ of the matches I play in reach and halo 4 (because I do). Those games are boring to me since it's a cakewalk and having to try at all is comical at best. I disagree Halo 3 is slow. I've got plenty to do in BTB matches racking up 30+ kills on foot with only a BR destroying vehicles and taking out fellow 50's on the other side of the map. All comes down to what a player can truly do with the tools they are given. To each his own, all I know is Halo isn't the same anymore and for me I've gone on nights in halo 4 where I didn't lose a single match (playing in a wide combination of playlists) and it's nowhere near as satisfying as in Halo 3 where a match is neck and neck 49 to 49 and by your own skill, no AA's, ordnance drops, and crap in the way you win the match for the team by out BR'ing an enemy when you have no shields and they started to shoot you first.

I don't recall ever having anywhere near those kind of matches on Halo 3. Halo 2 is another story where we were one time shitting our pants when the game was 49-49 in Team Slayer matchmaking on Sanctuary because we didn't want to lose it by any means because by winning it I had after long waiting gained level 32. Those were good times when we still had cared about levels.

  • yeah I've had lots of close matches in Halo 3 lately. Team Slayer is still pretty competitive too.
