Bungie.net Art Submissions

We have many talented artists in the Bungie.net community and the Bungie community as a whole. Starting now, we’re going to start giving a home to this fan-created art. Every month in The Gallery, we’re going to have a new thread for people to submit their own Bungie fan art. You’ll need to link your submission in that thread and at the end of the month we will gather the top submissions, host them and post them in a top story with all due credits. Yes, you will get mad street credz. The guidelines are pretty standard. No limitations on size (we’ll host the original file, but we will likely shrink it to 485px wide in order to display it properly on our page). Content... no pr0nz. I don’t care if it’s Bungie related, we’re not hosting pr0nz. Other generally unacceptable items include: gratuitous gore, copyright infringement and/or using others’ work without permission. Outside of that, anything goes. You can submit a creation in paint that took you 2 seconds, but we’re not going to feature it on the site (unless you’re Frankie). We’ll be featuring the best of a particular batch. We’re not limiting ourselves to a certain amount of submissions per posting, if a piece should be featured then it will be. Edit: You should really only submit new art. If you've created art in the past, please don't submit it. I know there's a lot, LOT of good stuff out there already, that's why we're doing this. But we can't have older pieces submitted or we could go on forever like that. Please only submit new works. We're not asking for exclusivity either. Go ahead and post them to all the usual blog, forum or the HBO Misc Art secion as you please. Edit 2: ONLY SUBMIT YOUR OWN WORK. Why would you submit someone else's work? It's their work, they can submit it. Disclaimer: We’re not soliciting this artwork to be used for profit or in any commercial capacity by Bungie Studios. We are simply looking to give Bnet users a place to submit their artwork and ultimately to highlight and give the best of it a home. To kick things off, here're a couple submissions from Bungie community contributors eskay and BOLL, respectively: [Edited on 10/24/2006]

 • here are some works in progress that i hope to have finished soon. this is concept art that i am still working on, and i hope to finish an updated draft so i can map it out. i would seriously have an orgasm if the bungie artists thought this would make a great MP map. there are two pieces to the map, but i sketched them seperately. if you use your imagination just right, you might be able to tell how they will be put together ; ) check em out: (by the way, i know they are crappy, they took me like 10 minutes combined) this is the ship: http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r72/ohsnap6388/covieship.jpg this is the bridge (note:map will be set in San Francisco) http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r72/ohsnap6388/GGbridge.jpg let me know what you think of it and anything i can add and i hope to have a draft soon with the ship from the first pic in the box from the second. not C&P, an actual drawing. UPDATE: from what i've seen in the game, the cities in halo 2 are gi-blam!-ing normous! since africa (where halo 2 and 3 seem to play parts in) is a third world country now, it means that it will be a thriving metropolis in the future when the game's time frame is in. that means that cities that have thrived in the present will be run down slums or not even there by the time the game takes place. in this case, the san francisco/silicon valley area, the birthplace of the .com generation, will be practically a graveyard, filled with bombed-out low income apartments that have been vacant a loonnnngg time, and the actual city being a haven for squatters and bums, no place to live since all the dot commers found out that central/south america and africa (basically, all the little 3rd world countries now) were the next big hot spots to bring new businesses and corporations to, which is why they are thriving. anyway, i added some city scape to the back of the bridge (note: the side you see is not san fran side, this is the sausalito side you are looking at. sausalito is the next city after the bridge in the bay area. actually, in real life, the hills and bumps you see on the drawing are really the golden gate nat'l rec. area. no homes or buildings can be built here, but im sure there will be buildings there in the time the game is being played.) if it were in the game, the buildings would be huge, 100+ stories, but they would all be old, grey, un-inhabitable huge blocks of concrete and steel. anywhoo, here is the updated drawing, i know i suck at depth perception when it comes to buildings but imagine that these buildings aren't really this close, they are probably like 10 miles away. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r72/ohsnap6388/GGbridge2.jpg next, i plan to draw it at a new angle with the covie ship in view. [Edited on 10/28/2006]
