Me and a mate have had some great times on co-op Heroic. The difficulty is just right, because the enemy AI is smart, but they dont take forever to kill. So we intend to play Halo 2 the first time co-op on heroic, assuming that the heroic difficulty will be similar to Halo 1. By doing this the game will feel even more intense and edge-of-your-seat. It'll make me appreciate each level more, and use tactics and cover a lot more, each level will really be savoured. Also my mate has an awsome Surround sound get-up, which sweetens the deal. So for your first time how will you play it?
(btw, if your wondering whats the deal with the prolific use of the word 'mate', im from Sydney, Australia)

I'm going to stay home from school and beat single player on legendary first then I'm goin to jump on live and dominate.

choices choices; do it on single player on an easier skill level (normal or heroic, makes you feel like a badass cyborg) and wizz through it find out the storyline... OR do it on Legendary and really feel like you've accomplished something when you've finally finished it... OR go live and get those stats up either way i'll 'borrow' my mates 32 inch widescreen and surround sound so i'm not fussed.
-
Screw multiplayer, I'm hitting the single-player first.

Firstly, I'd get something to drink maybe a snack. Set it all up on the table, and make sure I won't have to do some silly chore the next few hours. Then I'd get the surround started (Logitech Z-680, great stuff) and possibly a new TV, but probably still have my "old" one in Fall. It's big enough now, so no problem. Then I'll check out the menu's, maybe see if there are any new options (customizing profile), and then get my campaign started. I hope it has a great intro, a bit like the one for Halo 1. But with some more action to it. Then after a while I'll probably want to check out Live, at least for a little while, then get back to the campaign. Oh yeah, I'll be starting on Heroic on Legendary. Legendary is getting pretty easy on Halo now (also because I've played through every levels so many times), so I'm still deciding what to do. [Edited on 4/15/2004 5:43:24 AM]

I am going to put in the disk. Load up Live.. and then start hurting the small children who anger me on the servers. Let the owange begin.
-
I think i'll just take it easy and do SP on easy. No point rushing into it now. Halo 3 isn't gona come out for at lease 4 more years...
-
I'm gonna hop on Live first.
-
I will play it on normal, unless I find it too easy, then I'll switch to heroic. The first time I will try to "absorb" all the eye-candy as much as possible and I don't expect myself to play the game very tactical the first time, but I won't do silly things like meleeing hunters to death with a rocket launcher or needling hunters or anything either ... because if I 'll be able to do that without getting killed, I 'll switch to a higher difficulty. I expect myself to be going to use the battle rifle alot (!) because I'm quite shure it will rock and be a "standard" weapon. Oh and I already promised myself to use grenades alot more then I did in halo the first time (I was always scared to run out of grenades when I would need them, but in the end I realised that there are plenty of them and I never really needed them (unless on legendary). Coop w/my cousin Jeht on heroic...
-
I will kick my friends ass in link.
-
First I will open the case and relish that new game smell.. mmm ahhh Second I will pop the disc in the drive watch the opening sequence, hit the SP module select normal and dig in with my trusty 20oz bottle of Kool-AID(yes I'm cheap), and bag of chips. Third I will run wildly into the unknown guns blazing and grenades throwing wreaking as much havoc as is spartanly possible. Fourthly 10 mins in I will hear my wife scream from the other room to come help her with my son, which will end my gaming session for today and put off another for the next 5 or 6 days. Sigh.. New babies and Xbox time do not mesh.....

Yeah Goobstah, my mates parents dont live with him, and he doesn't live in an apartment, so the sound will be up full blast first time through with me too :) And legendary on your first run? Bit extreme? Arent you concerned that you'll ruin the flow, having to repeat certain areas over and over again (as will inevitably happen, no matter how good you are). And yeah I know they do have the same intelligence, but on normal and easy they often dont live long enough for you to see it, because their health or shields are significantly lower. Just to clarify, the enemies have the same intelligence on each difficulty...the only difference is the number of enemies and how many grenades each carries. I prefer to play on legendary, not because I'm the best halo player you've ever seen, but because I think it's the greatest challenge and provides the greatest sense of satisfaction. I think the first thing I'll do is play sp by myself so I can play Halo full screen first (That's assuming there isn't co-op system link and a friend isn't already over).
-
i would put the disc in turn the sound up full then go on live!!!!! then when my friends come over i would do co op. (sunshine coast)
-
ill probably play on co-op with my brother on legendary first, and then by myself on herioc
