I'm surprised how active these forums are, considering they're so crap; most posts make the poster sound like a retard, if he/she is even old enough to know what one is. It was all very well spending time on that interface new bungie.net interface, but it's too slow and complicated.
The forums are slow to generate a page, due to an excess of images and the many redundant database queries. The code is quite likely inefficient and bloated too. Keep it simple, and fast. A good interface shouldn't be complex.
And would it kill Bungie to release some more screenshots or details - the kind that people are interested to know such as "Is the pistol in the game?", "Can the plasma/energy sword be used in single player?" "What weapons can be dual wielded?", "Can the plasma sword block another plasma sword?" and generally, something to get stuck into, not 1 or 2 small facts here and there. Do you think that people won't buy the game because there are a few less unrevealed things? Or that the hype will go down because we know a little more than before? Do you think this will happen?:
"Hey, did you hear that the flamethrower is in SP and MP in Halo 2?"
"Yeah, I guess I don't need to buy the game to find out now; I was only buying it to see if they'd put it in"
Rubbish. When Bungie released more details, it made me want the game even more not any less.
After delaying the game by at least a year, you could at least give the fans some more facts and details about the game. Lets have some of the new weapons revealed for God's sake. Of course you don't want to reveal every minute detail about the game, for obvious reasons, but the whole censored -blam!- or "I can't say" crap is tedious and boring. Frankly, I'm buying Halo 2 because Halo was such a kickass game, not because I only want to find out what Bungie "[couldn't] say" all this time.
