When you join you will automatically recieve your own rank, specialty, branch (army, navy, marines, etc.) and ID. You will also be put in the UNSC Groups database where you'll be a member of your own team. With a high enough rank you can even command your own group. The higher the rank you get, the mor people you get to command. And it has tons more of great features like this and it would take to long to name them all.
